'''Chatellerault''' seems to be too generic for the title of this page, as it is used as short for the manufacturer Maunfacture Nationale d'Armes de Chatellerault (MAC) while the machine gun is best known as FM 24/29. So I would suggest the title '''FM 24/29 Light Machine Gun'''. [[User:Greg-Z|Greg-Z]] ([[User talk:Greg-Z|talk]]) 03:29, 26 September 2017 (EDT)

:The problem is "FM 24/29" is the label specifically for the 1929 model, which was fully the Fusil-mitrailleur Modèle 1924 M29 (hence FM 24/29), and so excludes the original Mle 1924. :::Honestly, I'd dispute this idea - the only real difference between the FM 1924 and the 24/29 was the chambering (7.5x58mm vs 7.5x54mm), and AFAIK, absolutely all of the 1924s were converted once they realized the problem with the original version (i.e. you could load 7.92x57mm Mauser in it by mistake and blow the thing to kingdom come, similarly to the current issue with .300 Blackout in 5.56 guns). We could either call it by the original version's name (as we do with the Lebel 1886 - almost all of them were updated to M93 standard), or call it the FM 24/29, since that's the only version that we'll ever reasonably see. Calling it "Chatellerault Light Machine Gun" is kinda clunky and unnecessary; I'd say "Chatellerault FM 24/29" is probably the best option. Page Title

Chatellerault seems to be too generic for the title of this page, as it is used as short for the manufacturer Maunfacture Nationale d'Armes de Chatellerault (MAC) while the machine gun is best known as FM 24/29. So I would suggest the title FM 24/29 Light Machine Gun. Greg-Z (talk) 03:29, 26 September 2017 (EDT)

The problem is "FM 24/29" is the label specifically for the 1929 model, which was fully the Fusil-mitrailleur Modèle 1924 M29 (hence FM 24/29), and so excludes the original Mle 1924. Maybe "Chatellerault Light Machine Gun?" Evil Tim (talk) 03:36, 26 September 2017 (EDT)
