You can force an update to the thumbnail by changing the size of the displayed image by even a single pixel, but the image itself you just have to wait for. So just change it from, say 600px to 601px after uploading the new image and it should update on the page.  [[User:Evil Tim|Evil Tim]] ([[User talk:Evil Tim|talk]]) 06:25, 16 August 2018 (EDT)

Welcome to IMFDB

Before you do any editing please take the time to read the Rules, Standards and Principles. This is a very important document that explains how this website is setup as well as telling you what is and isn't allowed. If it is determined by an admin that you have not read these rules, your account will be suspended. Continued non-compliance may result in a permanent ban. After that you should also read the IMFDB Screencapping Guide and the IMFDB Style Guide to familiarize yourself with the image and formatting requirements for pages you create.

There are a number of pages that desperately need your help. You can find these Incomplete pages here.

If you have any questions, feel free to post them here but make sure to sign your post by typing --~~~~.

Finally, IMFDB has a forum set up here that is only available to registered members. There is lots of good stuff to see there. If you would like to join the forum, please post HERE and an account will be created for you.

Now, HAPPY EDITING! bunni (talk) 16:01, 28 June 2016 (EDT)

Um

Why do you keep uploading identical files? It's kind of baffling, it might help if you tell me what you're trying to do here. Evil Tim (talk) 05:30, 20 September 2017 (EDT)

Ah, ok, figured it was something like that. I've got rid of the old one, in future all you need to do is edit the image page and put the nuke template on it, you don't need to upload a new version of the image to change the summary. Evil Tim (talk) 05:37, 20 September 2017 (EDT)

Ah, ok

If that's the new version of the image you uploaded (the one that doesn't have a watermark) then it'll display in the article now because I increased the image size by one pixel (that makes the server generate a new thumbnail) and will update completely within 24 hours or so, it's just a little side-effect of being served via Cloudflare that the images don't update instantly. If the image is somewhere else, just change the linked file in the article and put the delete tag on the page for the image itself (ie http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/File:Leprechaun_rifle_10.jpg) rather than in the article. Yeah, you can't directly delete a picture, only admins can do that. Evil Tim (talk) 05:24, 3 April 2018 (EDT)

Deadpool 2

Please remember to add a photo of the weapon along with making an entry on a movie page. Please refer to the modified entry for FN EGLM on Deadpool 2 when making future edits. --Ben41 (talk) 01:45, 31 May 2018 (EDT)

Screenshots

I don't know how you're getting your screenshots, but the ones for Merrill's Marauders and Terminator: Genisys are not up to standards and make the ID of the weapons very difficult. Image not updating

IMFDB uses a hosting service called Cloudflare. One side-effect of this is that there is a Cloudflare server between IMFDB's server and you, so uploading a new version of an image updates the image on the actual server, but it doesn't update the one stored in Cloudflare's cache for a while, and that's what people see. You can force an update to the thumbnail by changing the size of the displayed image by even a single pixel, but the image itself you just have to wait for. Making a page

Before making a new page, it is recommended that you read the Rules, Standards and Principles prior to making a new creation. It is suggested that you look at a properly formatted page to what works best. --Ben41 (talk) 16:50, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
