A Prophet (French Title: Un prophète) is a 2009 prison drama directed by Jacques Audiard. 19 year old Franco-Arab petty criminal Malik El Djebena (Tahar Rahim) is sentenced to a six year prison term for attacking police officers. Alone and illiterate upon his arrival in jail, Malik falls under the sway of Corsican mobster César Luciani (Niels Arestrup) and gradually rises through the prison hierarchy. As the years pass, Malik becomes educated in the ways of crime and begins to forge a criminal network inside and outside the prison, becoming a powerful kingpin in his own right.
The following weapons were used in the film A Prophet:
Handguns
Jericho 941
A thug points a Jericho 941 at Malik when he delivers money on behalf of Luciani to a group of gangsters during one of his parole leaves.
Colt M1911A1
Latif the Egyptian (Mamadou Minte) uses a Colt M1911A1 while hijacking a shipment of drugs that Malik's friend Ryad (Adel Bencherif) is smuggling to Paris. Brahim Lattrache (Sumane Dazi) threatens Malik with a nickel-plated M1911A1 while questioning him about his connection to Luciani and the death of his friend Reyeb (Hichem Yacobi).
CZ-75B
One of Malik's men uses a CZ-75B to threaten a prisoner's mother in order to coerce him into convincing his brother-in-law Latif to release Ryad, who was kidnapped along with the drug shipment.
Glock 17
Ryad carries a Glock 17 for his personal protection after his kidnapping.
Beretta 92FS
Malik uses a Beretta 92FS while carrying out a hit on Corsican mob boss Jacky Marcaggi.
Revolver
Malik is seen holding a snub-nosed revolver alongside the Beretta while preparing to ambush Marcaggi.
Submachine Guns
Sa vz. 61 Skorpion
One of Lattrache's men uses a Sa vz. 61 Skorpion while hunting some deer in the woods. Ryad uses a Skorpion while assisting Malik during the hit on Marcaggi.
