Megan Leavey is the 2017 war drama starring Kate Mara as the title character, a US Marine corporal serving with her military dog Rex in Explosive Ordnance Disposal when they are subsequently wounded from an IED during a mission. She then must work through the system in order to adopt Rex after he is taken away from his duties due to his injuries. The film was directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite and was based on a true story.
