Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
The following weapons were used in Season 1 of the television series The Untouchables:
Pistols
M1911
In "Ma Barker and Her Boys" (1.02), bank robber Fred Barker (Joe Di Reda) carries two original M1911 pistols, differentiated from the later M1911A1 model by the flat mainspring housing. In "The George 'Bugs' Moran Story" (1.03), mob enforcer George "Blackie" Anderson (Kem Dibbs) carries an M1911 in a shoulder holster.
M1911A1
Many gangsters, particularly Chicago Outfit enforcer and boss Frank Nitti (Bruce Gordon) carry M1911A1 pistols.
Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless
A few Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless pistols are seen in arsenal of the Barker gang's Florida hideout in "Ma Barker and Her Boys" (1.02).
Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket
Eliot Ness (Robert Stack) gives Brandy LaFrance (Barbara Nichols) a Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket in "The Empty Chair" (1.01), which she keeps in her purse and later uses to defend herself.
Revolvers
Colt Official Police
The primary sidearm of The Untouchables is the Colt Official Police, chambered in .38 Special and carried in a shoulder holster. The Official Police is carried by Eliot Ness (Robert Stack), Martin Flaherty (Jerry Paris), Enrico "Rico" Rossi (Nicholas Georgiade), and William Youngfellow (Abel Fernandez), among others. A Colt Official Police is also prominently featured in the show's opening credits. Several Official Police revolvers are also seen in the Barker gang's arsenal in "Ma Barker and Her Boys" (1.02), one of which was handled by Lloyd Barker (Adam Williams) when he hides during Ness' first visit to the Barker home.
Colt Official Police (Heavy Barrel)
"Doc" Barker (Peter Baldwin) is briefly seen with an anachronistic Colt Official Police Heavy Barrel revolver with a 4" barrel and ramped front sight in "Ma Barker and Her Boys" (1.02).
Colt New Service M1909
A Colt New Service M1909 revolver is one of the few firearms left in the Barker gang's arsenal when The Untouchables discover their Florida hideout in "Ma Barker and Her Boys" (1.02).
Colt Police Positive
George "Bugs" Moran (Lloyd Nolan) fires at police with a Colt Police Positive in "The George 'Bugs' Moran Story" (1.03). Mob hitman Leo Vincent Brothers (James Lanphier) drops a Police Positive at the scene of the titular crime in "The Jake Lingle Killing" (1.04).
Smith & Wesson Model 10
Gangsters and lawmen frequently use Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolvers. A Smith & Wesson is seen in the Barker gang's arsenal in "Ma Barker and Her Boys" (1.02).
Submachine Guns
M1921AC Thompson
Gangsters and lawmen alike carry the M1921AC Thompson submachine gun. Frank Nitti (Bruce Gordon) uses one to eliminate his rivals in "The Empty Chair" (1.01). Several are part of the Barker gang's arsenal in "Ma Barker and Her Boys" (1.02), used by Ma Barker (Claire Trevor), Lloyd Barker (Adam Williams), and Fred Barker (Joe Di Reda).
Replica Thompson
During the gunfight in "Ma Barker and Her Boys" (1.02), the Thompson carried by "Untouchable" agent Martin Flaherty (Jerry Paris) alternates between a genuine M1921AC model and an obvious replica.
Rifles
Winchester Model 1892 Rifle
Winchester Model 1892 rifles are often seen in the hands of law enforcement, including the Florida state troopers accompanying The Untouchables in "Ma Barker and Her Boys" (1.02).
Winchester Model 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine
Law enforcement officers, including Agent Jack Rossman (Steve London), can be seen carrying Winchester Model 1892 Saddle Ring Carbines.
M1903 Springfield
For some reason, the funeral procession in for corrupt Chicago reporter Jake Lingle includes U.S. Navy servicemen carrying ceremonial M1903 Springfield rifles in "The Jake Lingle Killing" (1.04). It's worth noting that the real Lingle had no military history, and the show makes no mention of any military history for his fictional counterpart.
Shotguns
Winchester Model 1897 Riot
The Untouchables - especially Agent William Youngfellow (Abel Fernandez) - often use Winchester Model 1897 shotguns with riot-length barrels during their many raids. Lloyd Barker (Adam Williams) hands one off to Fred Barker (Joe Di Reda) in "Ma Barker and Her Boys" (1.02).
Double-Barreled Shotgun
One of the mob hoods who corners Jack Zuta in Wisconsin in "The Jake Lingle Killing" (1.04) carries a hammerless double-barreled shotgun with a sawed-down barrel. In the same episode, a mob bootlegger appropriately riding "shotgun" carries a double-barreled shotgun for a late night liquor run.
Miscellaneous
Mk 2 hand grenade
Ma Barker (Claire Trevor) and Fred Barker (Joe Di Reda) both toss Mk 2 hand grenades at The Untouchables during the Florida gunfight in "Ma Barker and Her Boys" (1.02).
