Operation Corned Beef (L'opération Corned Beef) is a French 1991 action comedy directed by Jean-Marie Poiré. Capt. Boulier aka "Shark" (Jean Reno), a French intelligence (DGSE) officer, conducts an operation against Zargas, an illegal arms dealer from South America who is connected with some person in highest ranks of French officials. DGSE sets a covert listening device in a jewellery of Marie-Laurence Granianski, a secretary of a German consul Burger who is a contact to Zargas. When Marie-Laurence announces that she plans a vacation with her husband just in time of the negotiations of Burger and Zargas, the intelligence service tries to break these plans by provoking an adulter of Marie-Laurence's husband Jean-Jacques Granianski with beautiful Isabelle Fourreau who is a Lieutenant of DGSE and - to make things even more complicated - Boulier's bride (and Boulier is overjealous!).
The following weapons were used in the film Operation Corned Beef (L'opération Corned Beef):
In the opening scene in Colombia Capt. Philippe Boulier (Jean Reno) is armed with a snub nose revolver that appears to be a Charter Arms Off Duty or other in the Charter Arms .38/.357 series.
Smith & Wesson Model 19
During most of the story Capt. Philippe Boulier (Jean Reno) carries a Smith & Wesson Model 19 with 3" barrel and Smith & Wesson ergonomic rosewood grips.
Aspirant (NCO) Monique Garcia (Mireille Rufel) carries a Smith & Wesson Model 27 with 8" barrel, fitted with a sniper scope. The revolver is identified as .357 Model 27 rather than .44 Model 29 due to the large gap between the frame and the front of the cylinder. Similar revolver, except for the sniper scope, is used by one of Zargas' henchmen during the car chase.
Colt Python
What appears to be a Colt Python is seen in hands of Zargas' bodyguard in the climactic scene.

Smith & Wesson 59
In the opening scene one of Zargas' henchmen uses a nickel plated Smith & Wesson 59 pistol to kill a bystander. It is a 1st Gen pistol as the slide stop pin is in front of the double stack frame step. Possibly the same movie prop is seen in the final scene in hands of a DGSE operative.
