"HK416" not HK416?

I'm pretty sure the so-called M416 in SC:B is not a HK416. It lacks four unique, identifying characteristics of the HK416; the raised top rail, the shape of the handguard, the gas block, and the nearly horizontal magwell bottom.

As far as I can tell, it's some other modern AR carbine with a 10" barrel that has been misnamed by the developers. Anyone else got any input?

Ramell 14:51, 22 July 2012 (CDT)

I think what's got people automatically thinking it's a 416 is that front sight. I'll admit that's what did it for me when I saw the reveal trailer. Thought 'hmmm.....ditched the SC rifle for the 416' --DeltaOne 21:05, 22 July 2012 (CDT)

Are you telling that this is the first AR-15 you see in a game that has no gas block yet it can fire? BTW the selector has the HK416-style pictographs and let's not forget that these are pre-release images. - bozitojugg3rn4ut 05:56, 23 July 2012 (CDT)

@DeltaOne: Yeah, it looks like a HK front sight. A company named Troy Industries makes sights that look like those.

@Bozitojugg3rn4ut: No, it's not a lack of a gas block, but that specific gas block. Also, there are other AR lowers with the HK-style pictographs. They are pre-release images, sure, but it's not a HK416 in those. If it's changed to a real HK416 in release, it's all good, but right now, it's incorrect to call it an HK416. Ramell 06:33, 23 July 2012 (CDT)

Well, it's listed as unknown now. Personally, I'm thinking its just a mangled LMT piston carbine, though. Spartan198 (talk) 15:41, 13 December 2012 (EST)

I've seen a very similar AR in another game:

Which I personally always had pegged as an ACR. The one in this game looks like that shifted about halfway back to being an AR15 with the AR charging handle and ejection port. Evil Tim (talk) 06:55, 30 April 2013 (EDT)

Do we want to get rid of all those early CGI guns and images and see if the ingame HK416 matches up?Temp89 (talk)

The actual in-game "416" is much closer to the real HK416. The only wrong feature is the slanted magazine well so I think it is okay to call it an HK416. - bozitojugg3rn4ut (talk) 11:04, 7 September 2013 (EDT)
There are some pics of the HK416A5 that show it with a slanted magazine well, such as this one showing it in both "earth" colors as well as black [1]. So the slanted magwell isn't necessarily wrong. Spartan198 (talk) 08:31, 13 September 2013 (EDT)

SC3000

@Deltaone I'm glad that the SC3000 rifle got replaced. It was almost as annoying as the "hideous spawn of the devil" (http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Far_Cry_Instincts:_Predator#.22Assault_Rifle.22) --Speo16 06:45, 23 July 2012 (CDT)

What indication is there at this point to say it's been replaced? A few screenshots of Sam holding different rifles only means the ability to pick up enemy weapons is being carried over from Conviction. Besides, the SC3000 is far, far from the worst fictional design I've ever seen. Spartan198 08:18, 23 July 2012 (CDT)
yes but compared to sc2000k(im not sure i got that right) it is kinda bad, and in conviction pistols were basically the primaries

and rifles incl. sc3000 were useless. And me personally i think sc3000 feels like a downgrade than an upgrade--Speo16 14:44, 23 July 2012 (CDT)

SC3000 was a garbage rifle. Always wound up using the M468 (REC7) instead. --DeltaOne 22:20, 23 July 2012 (CDT)

You call it garbage, yet its performance in the game totally contradicts that. After putting a suppressor on the M468, accuracy and knockdown power seemed to drop drastically. This was where the SC3000 beat it out, as the addition of a suppressor didn't degrade its performance at all. If anything, accuracy in full-auto increased and bullet spread decreased with it. Film Adaptation

It is official, Tom "Bane" Hardy will play Fisher in the upcoming movie. Let's hope it will be better than Far Cry or Prince of Persia. - bozitojugg3rn4ut (talk) 14:35, 13 December 2012 (EST)

I thought Prince of Persia was pretty good for a game adaptation Excalibur01 (talk) 11:53, 30 April 2013 (EDT)
Yeah, PoP was great. Sure there were some character substitutions and additions, the time traveling could have been a bit bigger a focus, and I admit Jake what's-his-name wouldn't have been my first choice for the Prince, but the basic plot from the game was there pretty much in its entirety. I also didn't think Far Cry was that bad either, but I haven't played the game to compare. Anyhow, I really liked Hardy as Bane, so I'm going to be optimistic about this news. Spartan198 (talk) 05:16, 10 August 2013 (EDT)

Any stealth options returning?

Any news on stealth options from previous games (knocking on walls to lure enemies, hiding bodies, throwing items to distract enemies, etc.) returning? Despite the lack of these features, I did enjoy Conviction and thought it played very well with the improved gunplay. They can make it action-oriented to appeal to the CoD crowd if they want, but I'd be happy enough as an old school SC fan with just the option to play stealthy if I wish. Spartan198 (talk) 05:17, 10 August 2013 (EDT)

Gameplay of the intro and 1st level is up on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vog0PVvnBKU
There is luring guards, hiding bodies, dogs, less-lethal takedowns, hidden collectables, side missions, and stuff like that. So there is everything good from all the SC games except for one thing: Ironside.
Oh and there is also a mode that removes Mark & Execute and the see-tru-walls goggles. - bozitojugg3rn4ut (talk) 05:40, 10 August 2013 (EDT)
Great! I'll be sure to pick this up in a couple months when I have the money. :D I just hope the SC3000 makes it into the game again, because despite peoples' complaints about it, I found it to be one of the most effective rifles in the game in terms of recoil and stopping power. No Ironside does stink, but having gameplay features I like trumps who's voicing who. One question remains, though: What color is Grim's hair this time around? lol Spartan198 (talk) 06:59, 10 August 2013 (EDT)
Grim's hair is red like in Conviction.Kornflakes89 (talk) 02:06, 19 August 2013 (EDT)

SC4000

I miss the SC3000 but I also kinda like the new design of the 4000. And the 60 round mag is sweeeeet. The other prototype weapons are kinda ugly IMHO. - bozitojugg3rn4ut (talk) 13:06, 13 September 2013 (EDT)

I'm the opposite, I like the other prototype weapons but think the SC4000 is one ugly son of a bitch.Kornflakes89 (talk) 03:27, 17 September 2013 (EDT)

Minigun

I just noticed , the helo that comes to pick you up in Charlie's missions has a minigun mounted on each side, you can see it clearly if you aim at it with a scoped rifle, its sort of like a little bird --Iceman (talk) 13:42, 20 January 2014 (EST)

Seafort Guns

There are a number of bolt-action rifles and flintlocks on the walls and in display cases. The Spitfire fighter plane also seems to still have its guns onboard as well. Spartan198 (talk) 01:44, 10 June 2014 (EDT)

Incorrectly used SVU

When in real life is used by Spetnaz and MDV only, here is used by terrorist and is MAIN SNIPER RIFLE of INDIAN ARMY, instead of SVD. A SVD would fit more. --Dannyguns (talk) 12:26, 14 December 2016 (EST)

No worse than the XM8, XM29, and MK23 being used by New York National Guard and ROK troops in Chaos Theory. Spartan198 (talk) 19:56, 14 December 2016 (EST)
