There were a couple more weapons that I couldn't ID in this film. Firstly, the revolver carried by Brad Pitt, which I think it probably a .38 Mk IV but TBH I didn't really look as I incorrectly rememberer that the gun in the desk was a .38 and assumed they would be the same. Secondly, there is a SMG with a perforated barrel jacket and wood stock used by a resistance fighter in Dieppe. It is only seen in the dark in the background so didn't get a good look at it, my gut says it was an MP18 or MP28, but it might have also been a Lanchester. Thirdly, in the same scene there is a French Police revolver briefly visible, but I'm not good enough with French revolvers to instantly ID it from the flash of screen time it had (I would guess it is a Mle 1892 but not sure). While writing this it also occurred to me that you see many British soldiers guarding a variety of military installations but I don't remember ever seeing a Lee-Enfield. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some in back ground that I just didn't notice/remember though.  --commando552 (talk) 16:40, 28 November 2016 (EST)

I guess the unidentified SMG to be Steyr MP34. Of all SMGs with side mounted magazine, MP18, MP28 and Lanchester are excluded as they have magazine well ahead the handguard, while the screen gun has the magazine well within the handguard. Erma 35 had a foregrip, and MP35 has magazine attached at the right side. So Steyr MP34 is most likely candidate. Also, the sling is attached as on MP34. Webley Revolver

I do not think that this revolver is a Mk I, the frame and grips are the wrong shape and it has the cylinder cams under the holster guides which the Mk I lacked. Not sure, but I think it might be a Mk VI which has had the barrel chopped down, which makes sense as it appears to totally lack a front sight. --commando552 (talk) 19:08, 26 November 2016 (EST)

Well, the Lanchester was a copy of the MP28, so naturally they look alike.

Unidentified SMG

I guess the unidentified SMG to be Steyr MP34. Of all SMGs with side mounted magazine, MP18, MP28 and Lanchester are excluded as they have magazine well ahead the handguard, while the screen gun has the magazine well within the handguard. Erma 35 had a foregrip, and MP35 has magazine attached at the right side. So Steyr MP34 is most likely candidate. Also, the sling is attached as on MP34. Greg-Z (talk) 11:32, 15 December 2018 (EST)
