Civilization IV is a 2005 turn-based strategy game developed by Firaxis, and created by Sid Meier. The premise of the game is starting with a band of settlers in the year 4000 BC and creating a civilization to stand the test of time. Once the player enters the Renaissance Era and beyond they have the ability to create units armed with many firearms. While the graphics are low quality (which makes some weapons difficult to identify), many guns are very intricately modeled and are thus easily recognizable.
The following weapons appear in the video game Civilization IV and its expansion packs:
Handguns
Single Action Army
If the player is granted a Great General in the Industrial Age and beyond, the Unit is seen wielding a blocky looking Single Action Army. The look of the General appears to be based off of George S. Patton, so the use of a Colt SAA is fitting.
Unknown Suppressed Pistol
The Industrial Age and later Great Spy's (based off James Bond) icon shows an unknown suppressed handgun.
Walther PPK
The Industrial Age and later Spy's icon shows a suppressed Walther PPK.
Submachine Guns
Sa. Vz.61 Skorpion
The SAM Infantry unit wields Skorpions whenever they attack (or are attacked by) ground-based units.
M1 Thompson
The Paratrooper unit (based off of US WWII Paratroopers) wield M1 Thompsons.
M3 Grease Gun
The flag for the Red Syndicate in the "Final Frontier" scenario shows the silhouette of an M3 Grease Gun.
Rifles/Carbines
Spencer Carbine
The Cavalry unit (based off the US Cavalry), is seen using what appears to be a Spencer Carbine breechloader.
Sporterized Rifle
The Russian Cossack unit wields what appears to be an unidentified sporterized rifles. They are not visible clearly enough for accurate identification, but they clearly have no protruding magazine, and a bolt handle turned down (with a characteristic recess under it), which suggests that this is either based on a sporterized Mauser rifle (such as Karabiner 98k), or on one of the many hunting models.
With some convention, it could be considered, that it must be depicts Berdan Rifle, which was a standard issue rifle for Cossacks during the later 19th century.
M1 Garand
The Infantry unit (based off of WWII-era US Army soldiers) are equipped with very blocky M1 Garand rifles.
Musket (various)
The Ottoman Janissary, French Musketeer, and Musketman units all use shoulder-muskets of various unknown make. The icon for the Rifling technology shows an unknown percussion cap rifle.
Baker Rifle
The Rifleman unit is armed with an Baker Rifle.
Matchlock Musket
The Cuirassier unit is armed with Matchlock Muskets.
Kabyle Musket
The Oromo Warrior unit is armed with a Kabyle Musket.
Brown Bess Musket
The British Redcoat unit wields Brown Bess Flintlock Muskets.
AK-47
The Marine unit uses AK-47 assault rifles.
AK-103
In the "Next War" scenario, Automaton units are armed with scoped AK-103s with foregrips.
M16A2
In the "Road to War" scenario, Modern Infantry units are armed with the M16A2.
XM177 w/ M203
The American Navy SEAL Unit wields XM177s with mounted M203 Grenade Launchers (which are unusable). The XM177s also seem to have optical scopes and suppressors. Despite being suppressed, the weapon sounds unsuppressed when fire.
FG 42
In the "Road to War" scenario, German Infantry units are armed with the FG 42 fitted with a Zeiss ZF4 scope.
Shotguns
Custom Remington 870
In the "Next War" scenario, Cyborg units are armed with Remington 870. These shotguns are equipped with pistol grips, box magazines, and SPAS-12-style folding stock.
Machine Guns

Browning M1919
The Tank, Panzer, Gunship, Transport, and Modern Armor units are all armed with the Browning M1919.
Browning M2
The Mobile Artillery and Modern Armor units are armed with the Browning M2.
M240C
The Mobile SAM unit is armed with an M240C.
MG42
In the "Road to War" scenario, Type 97 Chi-Ha tanks are erroneously armed with MG42 machine guns.
DShK
ZTZ-99 tanks in the "Road to War" scenario are erroneously armed with DShK machine guns.
Launchers
Panzerschreck
The Anti-Tank unit wields the Panzerschreck.
FIM-43 Redeye
The SAM Infantry unit wield FIM-43 Redeyes. As their name implies, they use these against aircraft only, opting to use their aforementioned Skorpions against any ground unit.
Grenades
Fuse Grenade
The Grenadier unit will use Fuse Grenades as a primary weapon alongside their sabers.
Artillery
Cannon
The Cannon unit is represented by Napoleonic era cannons.
