The following weapons were used in the film Red State:
The Generation 2 Glock 17 is prominently featured in the film: ATF Agent Joseph Keenan (John Goodman), ATF Agent Harry (Kevin Alejandro), the ATF Sniper (Marc Blucas) and other agents carry Glock 17s. Sara (Melissa Leo) uses a Glock 17 to kill the ATF Sniper and then she gives the pistol to Cheyenne (Kerry Bishé), who uses it to threaten Randy.
Single Action Army
Caleb (Ralph Garman) uses a Single Action Army to execute a hostage at the church. He also uses it to kill Billy-Ray at the basement.
The ATF Sniper (Marc Blucas) carries a Smith & Wesson Model 34 revolver as his backup weapon. He empties the Model 34 and tries to give it to Cheyenne, however he gets killed before he could do it.
A female Believer holds a Heckler & Koch MP5K submachine gun with Navy trigger group when the last remaining Believers gather together at the basement of the church. This gun is never fired in the film.
IMI Uzi
Abigail (Betty Aberlin) fires a Uzi at the ATF agents during the shootout.
Assault Rifles
Colt M16A1 with A2 Handguards
Sheriff Wynan (Stephen Root) kills one of the escaping hostages with an M16A1 (fitted with A2 handguards) when he mistakes him for a "terrorist".
Colt M4A1
ATF agents are using either M4A1 Carbines or MP5A3 submachine guns in the film. At least one ATF Agent is seen with an M4A1 fitted with an Aimpoint sight. The ATF Sniper's (Marc Blucas) M4A1 is fitted with an unknown telescopic sight. Mordechai (James Parks) also uses an M4A1 when he and his wife, Esther (Jennifer Schwalbach Smith - who is the director Kevin Smith's wife) go to the roof to hold back the ATF agents storming the church.
Classic Army M15A4 Airsoft Carbine
When Travis (Michael Angarano) escapes from the basement, he hides in the armory and takes out a Classic Army M15A4 airsoft rifle (which is a replica of the M4A1 Carbine). It is recognizable by the white "ArmaLite" logo and the white-painted fire position markings on the lower receiver (which no real AR-15 manufacturer uses).
Note: Most Type 56's and Type 56-1's which were imported into the U.S. during the 1980s came standard with a AKM style slant compensator, which made them resemble AKMs.
When Mordechai and his wife grab more weaponry from the armory, Esther (Jennifer Schwalbach Smith) is seen picking up a (possibly non-firing) AK-47. Her AK changes into a Type 56 when she actually fires it on the roof. An AK-47 is also seen on the cover/poster of the film.
One of the Believers holds a Benelli M3 Super 90 shotgun near the end of the film.
Launchers
Multi-Shot Launcher
One ATF agent fires a smoke grenade into a small shack from an unknown Multi-Shot Rotary Launcher.
Other
The Believers' Weapon Cache
The Believers keep a massive amount of small arms in their basement. Numerous MP5A2s (with both S-E-F and Navy trigger packs), an Over And Under shotgun, a Ruger Mini-14 and various AK-type guns, hunting rifles and pump-action shotguns can be seen in the room.
