: If you have definitive proof that is what they used in actuality, that can be noted on the page. That said, what they should use has often little to do what does get used - As has been said plenty of times before, just because a particular police force uses a particular gun in actuality doesn't necessarily mean that's what will likewise used in a film/show for any number of reasons. :: Yes, I'm aware we only list what was used in the work, in this case Colt Government Models and S&W Model 10s. I'm just wondering if those were issued/authorised at the time by the Illinois State Police. --Maxman (talk) 19:40, 8 March 2016 (EST)
::: Ah, sorry, I gotcha now. That said, don't know, myself. I will say the Colt autos I'd be doubtful about, then again they adopted semiautos that early on which is rather atypical itself. StanTheMan (talk) 02:34, 9 March 2016 (EST)

Discussion

This movie is Hilarious

The climax is pure gold and the destruction of pretend government property hasn't been rivaled. Also was that an M4 Sherman in the climax or am I spaced out?

Yes it was hahaha. Part of the movie's humor :) -Gunman69 04:53, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

MGC M16s

Though this page gives credit to original M16s, actually most of the time the cops / soldiers are using MGC Replica M16s since they are not firing and the forward assist is the faux one of the MGC gun. MoviePropMaster2008 00:12, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

That actually makes more sense, since they never fire them. Thanks for the heads up. :) -Gunman69 04:41, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

John Candy's Revolver

When Burton Mercer (John Candy) looks at the poster for the Blues Brothers hotel ballroom concert at his desk, he wears some sort of revolver in a large leather shoulder holster.

Illinois State Police pistols

Should they not have S&W Model 39s instead? Illinois State Police adopted the 39 in 1967. --Maxman (talk) 21:06, 7 March 2016 (EST)

If you have definitive proof that is what they used in actuality, that can be noted on the page. That said, what they should use has often little to do what does get used - As has been said plenty of times before, just because a particular police force uses a particular gun in actuality doesn't necessarily mean that's what will likewise be used/represented in a film/show for any number of reasons. Ah, sorry, I gotcha now. That said, don't know, myself. I will say the Colt autos I'd be doubtful about, then again they adopted semiautos that early on which is rather atypical itself. StanTheMan (talk) 02:34, 9 March 2016 (EST)
