Hatred is a controversial isometric shooter developed by Polish studio Destructive Creations. Players take the role of an unnamed killer known as "The Antagonist," (more popularly known by his fan nickname "Not Important," due to a line in his opening monologue), who has intense hatred for all humanity. He decides to go on a rampage and kill as many people as possible before he dies. Due to the context of the game, Hatred has generated much controversy in gaming media. It is one of the only games to receive an AO (Adults Only) rating from the ESRB for violence, along with Manhunt 2. At one point, the game was taken down from Steam's Greenlight program, then reinstated with a personal apology to the developers by Valve's founder Gabe Newell.
It was released on June 1st, 2015.
The following weapons appear in the video game Hatred:
Pistols
Glock 17
The Glock 17 is the game's standard handgun. It is carried by police officers and occasionally found in homes. Holds 10 rounds in a magazine.
Desert Eagle Mark XIX
The August 2015 Survival update added a survival mode and two new weapons to the game. One such weapon was the IMI Desert Eagle Mark XIX. It is one of the most powerful weapons available, killing most NPCs in one shot. Holds 8 rounds in a magazine.
Submachine Guns
Ingram MAC-10
The MAC-10 is first seen during the level "Train." Holds 30 rounds in a magazine and boasts a fast rate of fire, but has weak damage.
Heckler and Koch MP5A5
The Heckler & Koch MP5A5 appears as the favored weapon of SWAT teams. It features a Surefire dedicated forend weaponlight which is always on. Holds 30 rounds in a magazine.
Assault Rifles
AK-47
What appears to be a Type III AK-47 is the first available weapon and also seems to be Not Important's favored weapon. He loads one in the introductory cutscene and is seen with it in multiple promotional artworks. Holds 30 rounds in a magazine and deals high damage.
M16A2
The M16A2 first appears in the level "Train." Later, it is carried by National Guard soldiers that attempt to stop Not Important's rampage. It has a higher rate of fire, but less damage, than the AK-47 and is much more commonplace later in the game. Holds 30 rounds in a magazine and fires fully automatic only.
Shotguns
Mossberg 500
The sole shotgun in the game is a Mossberg 500 with synthetic parts and a pistol grip. It is carried by some police officers and is used by hunters that appear in the "Marina" level. It is one of the most common weapons in the game along with the pistol. Holds six shells.
