| [[Phantom of Inferno]] is a visual novel game created by Nitroplus, and distributed by Hirameki International. It came out in Japan in 2000, and then was distributed in America as an AnimePlay title in 2003.
| |
| | |
| It has been adapted to a short 3 part OVA anime series by Earth Create/KSS in 2004. Then adapted into a full-length 26-episode TV anime series titled, '''Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom''', produced by Bee Train.
| |
| | |
| In the underground world of the United States, the organization "Inferno" grows with the influences of many other mob groups thanks to their top assassin, the Phantom. During the early stages of their construction, a Japanese Tourist accidentally becomes entangled with the organization when he witnesses the Phantom, Ein, murder a reporter. He is then captured and integrated into Inferno by having his memory wiped by the Scythe Master, the creator of Ein. Given the name "Zwei", he is forced to cooperate with Inferno or be killed, so he takes up training from Ein to become a professional assassin. As he progress in his dark career, Zwei desires his memories back and must find a way to kill for Inferno without losing his grip to humanity and his former self.
