==The Glock==
Not 100% sure, but I think Francis Dolarhyde's Glock may have been a G19, not a G17. There's a decent view of it sitting in his safe when he gets out his shotgun and tries to kill himself, and the grip looked too short to be that of a G17. Also, it had a checkered backstrap, so it's actually a 2nd Gen Glock (the page currently shows a Gen 1 Glock). Anyone got a screencap? -[[User:MT2008|MT2008]] ([[User talk:MT2008|talk]]) 22:15, 25 January 2015 (EST)

Screencapping?

Anyone else want to do it, or should I? Just got the DVD recently. -protoAuthor

All right. Just gotta wait for my iPod to finish getting stuff from my computer, as my computer is taking up a lot of memory right now, and is running slowly.-protoAuthor

Identification of weapons

There are questions as to the shotgun that Dollarhyde uses. Is it actually a Mossberg or is it a Mossberg that was modified by the production to give it a unique look? Also there is some debate as to the revolver being used by Graham at the end of the movie. --Jcordell 15:37, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Found Dollarhyde's shotgun in the 1965 Gun Digest issue. It's a J.C. Higgins Model 21. --Jcordell 21:49, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Timeline of story

ALso some debate as to the timeline. The story starts in 1980, but then jumps ahead to the late eighties. Probably 1989. It then ends in the winter of 1991 with Lector preparing to meet Agent Starling in 1991. So Dolarhyde using a GLOCK 17 is correct. --Jcordell 15:40, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

I always thought that it started in the 1980s and then jumped to 1986 as I don't remember it saying how many years later it was. Just that it was "a few years later". I assumed 1986 thought just because of that being when Manhunter was released.--cool-breeze 16:17, 9 March 2011 (MSK)

I believe I settled on 89 because at one time you see documents with 1989 on them. But I have to watch it again to be certain.--Jcordell 19:00, 9 March 2011 (MSK)

Pretty sure the movie takes place in the late-80s since many of the cars seen throughout the film are from that time (i.e. the Ford Crown Victoria that Will Graham rides in when they are going to Francis Dolarhyde's house at the end is a 1988-91 model). -MT2008 (talk) 22:12, 25 January 2015 (EST)

Charter Arms Revolver

Okay I've concluded that Graham is using a Charter Arms Pug (.357 Magnum) when he takes on Dollarhyde. Just like in Manhunter and also just like in the novel.

It's stressed in the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris (which Manhunter is based on as well) that Graham uses a Charter Arms revolver. I think what has been throwing people is that in Red Dragon (the movie) they have him using a current production version of the Bulldog/Pug. The current production model has a lug protecting the ejector rod. Red Dragon was filmed in 2002. Manhunter was filmed in 1985. In the 1980's the Cahrter Arms Bulldog/Pug would have had an exposed ejector rod.

Anyway that's my conclusion. So I've changed it. Because I agree that is not a Ruger SP-101.--Jcordell 16:03, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
