8 Days (German: 8 Tage) is a 2019 German apocalyptic thriller mini-series starring Christiane Paul and Mark Waschke.
A 60 kilometer (37.3 miles) wide asteroid, Horus, is anticipated to impact Earth in eight days. With the predicated impact site in France, the populations of Western Europe are right in the crosshairs of the asteroid and society begins to unravel. In Berlin, the Steiner family flee the chaos in hopes of finding sanctuary in the next eight days before life as they know it changes forever.
The following weapons were used in the television series 8 Days:
German police officers are armed with the SIG-Sauer P320 when they decide to steal the ID and the car of citizens chosen to shelter in government bunkers.
Deniz (Murathan Muslu), one of the last police officers still on duty in his precinct, carries a SIG-Sauer P226 as his sidearm of choice. Later, Klaus (Devid Striesow) carries one as well.
A Bundeswehr deserter threatens his officer and Deniz (Murathan Muslu) with a Heckler & Koch USP when he tries to steal weapons from the police station during Episode 5.
In Episode 4, Deniz (Murathan Muslu) is assigned to a roadblock on the way to the government bunker. He draws his Luvo Arms LA-15 at his colleagues who choose to desert.
Inside the government bunker in Episode 5, Special Forces are armed with Tavor TAR-21s, a rather unlikely weapon of choice for German government forces. Some rogue soldiers use the rifle when they invade the bunker in the same episode.
True to life, the G36 is the standard assault rifle of Bundeswehr forces. It is seen throughout the series in the hands of German soldiers, but most prominently during Episode 5 when they have to fight back the deserters who try to enter the bunker by force.
In Episode 5, Deniz (Murathan Muslu) carries an MP5A3 with railed handguard to continue his duties as well as possible. Later, he finally gives the MP5s from the armory to Klaus' (Devid Striesow) group when Klaus offers Deniz the chance to join them and give him a place inside his personal bunker.
In Episode 8, when Herrmann (Fabian Hinrichs) finally abandons Marion (Nora Waldstätten) in order to enter the last bunker still open, a German soldier carries what appears to be an MG36, judging by the length of the barrel and the bipod.
In Episode 1 and 2, a Polish woman (Claudia Zie) threatens the Steiner family with a Sawed-Off Double Barrel Shotgun when they try to escape to Russia. When Susanne (Christiane Paul) finally disarms her, Uli (Mark Waschke) carries it until losing it.
Klaus (Devid Striesow) steals a unknown scoped rifle from a survivalist. He uses it to kills two soldiers who take Deniz (Murathan Muslu) hostage. The rifle has to be loaded one round at a time directly into the chamber as it seems to be missing the magazine that goes along with it. His daughter Nora (Luisa-Céline Gaffron) uses the rifle as well to practice shooting and to confront her father in the final episode.
