Born and raised in New York City (Bronx Borough) he has made a career out of playing tough guys - typically cops, firefighters and mobsters. His first role was at the age of seventeen. He was cast by Robert De Niro (who directed and produced) to play a gangster in the 1993 movie A Bronx Tale.
