Sky (Russian: Небо; Nebo) also known as Mission «Sky» is a 2021 Russian aviation action war film written and directed by Igor Kopylov. The film stars Igor Petrenko as Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Soshnikov, Ivan Batarev as Captain Konstantin Muravyov and Sergey Gubanov as Major Vadim Zakharov, three Russian officers from different backgrounds who meet at Khmeimim Airbase in Syria. The film is based on the shootdown of a Russian Su-24 by a Turkish F-16 over Turko-Syrian airspace in 2015, and the search and rescue operations for Russian Air Force personnel Oleg Peshkov and Konstantin Murakhtin.
