Chapter 27 is a 2007 biographical drama film about Mark David Chapman (Jared Leto), a mentally unstable fan of the Beatles, and what led him to murdering former Beatles member John Lennon (played by Mark Lindsay Chapman; no relation to Mark David Chapman) on the night of December 8, 1980.

The revolver that was used by Chapman to shoot John Lennon in real life was a Charter Arms Undercover, but the Smith & Wesson Model 36 bears a close enough resemblance to a Charter Arms, and was probably used due to its availability.
