Blade Runner 2049 is the 2017 sequel to the 1982 science fiction classic that was directed by Ridley Scott. Set thirty years following the events of the original film, the sequel was directed by Denis Villeneuve and Ridley Scott returns as executive producer. Ryan Gosling stars in the film as Officer K, a new Blade Runner investigating an unusual discovery following the "retirement" of an older replicant.
