The Ruffian (Le Ruffian) is a 1983 French-Canadian adventure movie directed by José Giovanni and starring Lino Ventura as Aldo Sévenac, a French Canadian, who works on a gold mine in Rocky Mountains. One day a gang attacks the mine, planning to loot the gold. After a shootout all robbers are dead, and only three miners survive: Aldo and a pair of Indians (actors James Ernest Davis and Danyl Wahayenni-Martin). The three take the gold but Aldo manages to cheat the Indians and escape. When he crosses a river, his boat falls into waterfall, and while Aldo survives, crates with gold nuggets sink. Now Aldo returns to Canada and gathers a team of his old friends to salvage the treasure.
The following weapons were used in the film The Ruffian:
Revolvers
Colt Python
A security guard on the gold mine carries a Colt Python. During the heist Aldo (Lino Ventura) takes the revolver from the holster of the dead guard and uses it. The younger Indians also uses a Python in the same scene. When the Indians find Aldo in Canada, the elder of two carries a Python.
Colt Trooper Mark III
What appears to be a Colt Trooper Mk III is used by the younger Indian when the two find Aldo in Canada.
Smith & Wesson Model 36
The Baroness (Claudia Cardinale) owns a Smith & Wesson Model 36 revolver (thought she doesn't carry it on screen). In the final scene it is used by John (Pierre Frag).
Unidentified revolver
A police officer carries a revolver in holster. It has gold medallions in S&W style on the grips, so it's possibly a Smith & Wesson Model 10, but no strict identification is possible.
Pistols
Mauser C96
One of the robbers dual-wields a Mauser C96 and a Walther P38.

One of the robbers dual-wields a Mauser C96 and a Walther P38.
Star Model B
In the final scene Nelson Harting (August Schellenberg) draws a Star Model B pistol. When he is disarmed, Gérard (Bernard Giraudeau) takes the pistol.
Submachine Guns
Madsen M50
One of the robbers is armed with a Madsen M50.
Mini Uzi

Shotguns
Remington 870 Police Magnum

Remington Model 31
A security guard in the mine office carries a shotgun that appears to be a short-barreled Remington Model 31.
Winchester Model 1912
One of the robbers is armed with a Winchester Model 1912. In another scene a police officer holds a shotgun that also appears to be a Winchester M1912.
