The Outside Man (original title Un homme est mort ("A Man is Dead")) is a 1972 French-Italian-American crime movie directed by Jacques Deray. Lucien Bellon (Jean-Louis Trintignant), a French hitman, kills a mobster in L.A. then learns that he is now targeted target of another hitman, Lenny (Roy Scheider).
The following weapons were used in the film The Outside Man:
Revolvers
Smith & Wesson Model 10 (snub-nosed)
Lucien Bellon (Jean-Louis Trintignant) carries a snub-nosed Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolver. In the final scene one of Alex Kovacs' men uses a snub-nosed revolver that appears to be the same Model 10.
Smith & Wesson Model 27
A Smith & Wesson Model 27 revolver with 3.5" barrel is carried by Lenny (Roy Scheider) in most scenes. Later Lucien Bellon (Jean-Louis Trintignant) uses Lenny's revolver.
Smith & Wesson Model 40
A Smith & Wesson Model 40 is Lenny's (Roy Scheider) backup gun.
Smith & Wesson Model 10
Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolvers are seen in hands of LAPD officers.
Pistols
Beretta
In the final scene Paul (Lionel Vitrant) is armed with a pistol with typical Beretta shape. It is supposed to be a Beretta M1934.
M1911A1
An M1911A1 pistol is used by Antoine (Michel Constantin) in the final scene.
Shotguns
Ithaca 37
An Ithaca 37 is seen in the police car, hijacked by Lenny (Roy Scheider). Police officers also use Ithaca 37 shotguns in the final scene.
Rifles
Wilkinson Arms J&R Engineering M68 Carbine
A Wilkinson Arms J&R Engineering M68 Carbine is used by Lenny (Roy Scheider) during his first attempt to kill Lucien Bellon. Before shooting Lenny assembles his gun just like the assassin in Phantom of the Paradise film that appeared two years later.
