The Mediator (Posrednik) is a Soviet 1990 three-part made for TV science fiction movie directed by Vladimir Potapov and adapted from the novel "Glavniy polden" ("Main Noon") by Aleksandr Mirer. A small town is invaded by aliens, taking people under mind control by embedding alien matrixes called "Thinkers". Thinkers are implanted with the use of "Mediator" devices (hence the title of the film). The target of the first wave of the invasion is a great radio telescope, located near the town, that they plan to use as a receiver for the main invasion. But the aliens suddenly encounter with a problem: Thinkers cannot be implanted in minds of kids and teenagers, and also mentally deficient people. Three teenagers, Sergey, Nastya and Zhenya, are in center of the events.
The following weapons were used in the film The Mediator (Posrednik):
Makarov PM
Makarov PM pistols are widely used in the movie. They are service sidearms of Soviet Militsiya (police) personnel. Pistols from the armoury of the shooting gallery are used by the supervisor of the gallery Georgiy Stepanovich Chernov (Vilor Kuznetsov), Sergey Belenkiy (Andrey Tarasenko) and Aleksandr Zamyatin (Valeriy Storozhik).
AKS-47
AKS-47 assault rifles from Militsiya armoury are seen in hands of many mind-controlled people.
Izhmash SM-2
Georgiy Stepanovich Chernov (Vilor Kuznetsov) fires an Izhmash SM-2 bolt action target rifle at mind-controlled Rubchenko.
Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-30-2
Mi-24P attack helicopters are armed with Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-30-2 autocannons.
Trivia
Two Mi-24P attack helicopters are used to threaten the invaders when they are uncovered.
