The Blob is a 1958 American science fiction film directed by Irvin Yeaworth and stars Steve McQueen in one of his first acting roles.
In Summer 1957, a meteorite lands outside of a rural Pennsylvania town, unleashing an amoeba-like alien organism that consumes and dissolves its victims, growing ever larger and more aggressive the more people it consumes. A sequel, titled Beware! The Blob, was released in 1972, as well as a remake in 1988.
12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun
Dr. Hallen (Alden "Stephen" Chase) retrieves a 12 gauge shotgun from his office wall to shoot at the blob, to no effect.
Winchester Model 1892
Lieutenant Dave Barton (Earl Rowe) carries a Winchester Model 1892 when the blob invades the town.
Unidentified Rifle
Sergeant Jim Bert (John Benson) first uses a bolt-action rifle during the climax of the film. They are not fired onscreen and seen only fleetingly in brief scenes.
Cooey Model 60
The second rifle used by Sergeant Jim Bert is a small-caliber rifle with underbarrel tube magazine. The shape and length of the magazine and the handguard allows to identify the rifle as a Cooey Model 60.
Other
The cops - Dave, Jim, and Ritchie (George Karas) - have holstered, wood-handled revolvers of some kind but these are never taken out and used.
