Somebody keeps changing the page, but I'm pretty sure that this is a Glock 19 (which is what the page said for years) and not a Glock 17 (which is what the page says now). The barrel is way too short for a full-size Glock. Earlier in the episode, there's a brief view of a Glock in the holster of a security guard at the facility (which is probably where Dr. Dietz got the gun), and the grip is clearly that of a compact Glock. -[[User:MT2008|MT2008]] ([[User talk:MT2008|talk]]) 17:55, 19 September 2022 (UTC) |

All PNG's now deleted
Okay I put that job off for as long as I could. All images are now jpg. --Jcordell 17:31, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
Screencaps
Please? I've done everything I can. --Jcordell 00:45, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
I'll take that deafening silence as a no. I have to download the software so I can do screencaps. That's all there is to it. --Jcordell 21:55, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- Use VLC Media Player.-Oliveira 22:00, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Right now I'm visiting. But when I return home I'll do that. --Jcordell 22:41, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Better late than never
Okay well just a few months later, but I've jumped into the water. Actually they don't look too bad. I'll continue to work on them. --Jcordell 19:43, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
- Did you use VLC? By the way, put "." at the end of every caption, please.--Oliveira 19:45, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
Yes I used VLC. Could you demostrate please?--Jcordell 19:46, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
- Demostrate what? The points?--Oliveira 19:48, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
What do you want me to put the quotes around? The whole caption under the screencap? --Jcordell 20:18, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
- Oh. Sorry. I'm talking about the period. I'm going to fix it. Don't worry.
Great. Thanks. So what do you think? Evidently I should have formatted the screencaps in JPEG and not PNG. Well now I know. Guess I'm blowing my own horn but I think it's looking pretty good. For some reason this page ,above all others, has really been bothering me. It really needed screencaps. --Jcordell 22:11, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
- It looks great. Good job, Jcordell.--Oliveira 23:16, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
Chuck Adamson as Barry Dorgan. Real life inspiration for Vincent Hanna in Heat
Go to the section on the Winchester Model 1300 Defender. In the screencaps he's the older guy in the blue blazer. He retired as a Lt. with the Chicago PD. He was the guy that Micheal Mann modeled Vincent Hanna after. He was the technical advisor on Heat and I believe the televison series Crime Story which was alos produced by Mann.Chuck Adamson passed away on 02/22/2008. --Jcordell 21:12, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
Done
Okay that's it for me. If anyone else sees some models that I missed (I'm sure that I did) feel free. Next stop Rough Riders . However this was actually alot of fun and a good experience. Made a few mistakes, but not as difficult as I thought it would be. Glad I finally took the plunge.--Jcordell 02:05, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
Whoops
Sam Raimi is using an H&K MP5K-PDW not an H&K MP5A3. I've corrected it. --Jcordell 01:30, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- This is quite clearly not an MP5K-PDW; it does not have a folding stock. It's an H&K SP89 that's been fitted with an MP5K forward grip and converted to auto.
Organizing firearms by type
I'm just organizing some pages. I'm not changing the text or screencaps, but I'm anal and I am grouping the firearms by type. --Jcordell 21:42, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
Imitating Bronze Bruce?
I just saw The Stand for the first time on Netflix, and I couldn't help but notice a certain similarity between Gary Sinise's pose in this scene...
...to this statue:
Is this just a coincidence, or did Gary Sinise (loosely) copy the pose of the Special Warfare Memorial Statue when he filmed the scene? I know he's a supporter of veterans in real life, so it seems possible (even likely) he knows about it. I hadn't seen the statue myself at the time that Jcordell created the page (in 2009), but I saw it when I was at Fort Bragg for the first time a few years ago. So I didn't entertain the possibility until just now. If I'm not imagining things, this might be a neat bit of trivia for the page. -MT2008 (talk) 21:40, 16 September 2014 (EDT)
- I see nothing similar. They aren't wearing the same clothes, sun glasses, the left hand pose isn't the same and he isn't even holding the rifle like the statue. Excalibur01 (talk)
- Well maybe it is a type of homage. I know that Sinise is a big supporter of our military. --Jcordell (talk) 14:48, 17 September 2014 (EDT)
- It does seem to be a pretty natural way to hold a rifle, especially if you're leaning against something. --Funkychinaman (talk) 15:12, 17 September 2014 (EDT)

The Glock
