:I'm fairly sure it is a Romanian carbine of some sort (not a Draco, that is a specific US import version). I think the gun pictured is one of the more recent version which is actually chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO. Also it has the RPK style bulged trunion which if memory serves is on some of the Romanian carbines. Will dig around and see if I can come up with a picture or the designation. --commando552 (talk) 05:18, 19 February 2013 (EST) | :I'm fairly sure it is a Romanian carbine of some sort (not a Draco, that is a specific US import version). ::Ok, not sure but I think the original Romanian designation would be PA md. 97 cu țeavă scurtă (short barreled PA md. 97). They are exported under the name AIMR, but this covers all calibers so this would be an AIMR 5.56. I can find pics of them with or without the bulged trunion, but here is one below with it that I think is an exact match for this rifle with the same stock, handguard, receiver, magazine and flash hider:--commando552 (talk) 05:42, 19 February 2013 (EST) | ::Ok, not sure but I think the original Romanian designation would be PA md. 97 cu țeavă scurtă (short barreled PA md. 97). :::Would this help? Found a few nice pics in discussion groups of a few years ago: here (scroll down a bit) and here (scroll down quite a bit). They're decribed as the 'Champion Carbine' being the .223 brother to the Draco. Hope this helps, --PeeWee055 (talk) 06:20, 19 February 2013 (EST) | |||
::::I think the Draco pistol is essentially a US import version of the PA md. 90 cu țeavă scurtă (7.62x39mm) whereas the Champion pistol is an import version of the PA md. 97 cu țeavă scurtă (5.56x45mm). On that first link that is a genuine AIMR (doesn't have the RPK trunion like the above one though) with the Champion pistol beneath it. The second link is a mock up based on the champion pistol, one visible difference is that the handguards do not have the palm swell, kind of like the difference between the Draco carbine and the PM md. 90 carbine on the AK page. Regardless, as this wasn't filmed in the US they wouldn't be built on US import weapons, they would more likely be original Romanian variants. Just briefly on the topic of the AK pistols, i believe that originally all pistols were sold as Champions regardless of caliber, but then they split with Champion being 5.56 and Draco being 7.62. Don't know if there is a 5.45mm variant, but I doubt it. --commando552 (talk) 06:46, 19 February 2013 (EST) |

I'm pretty sure that's a real MP5 of some sort. And I think the chopped HK94s were something unique to American productions. --Funkychinaman (talk) 20:59, 18 February 2013 (EST)
That's what I thought too. But then I got confused by the firing position selector, with the security white sign on the upper right corner. But it could be the SEF pattern used on the earlier MP5. --Sebastian2A(talk)
- I changed it to a MP5A3. The gun has the barrel lugs of an MP5, and while you can't see the paddle mag release, you can see the pin for it. --Funkychinaman (talk) 21:26, 18 February 2013 (EST)
PAMAS G1
In the screenshot below, I don't think that the gun used in the movie is a Beretta 92FS. I think it's a PAMAS G1, as noted by the lack of a red dot on the safety. Any thoughts? --Mormonpowerranger521 00:37 MDT, 19 February 2013
- Wouldn't we be able to read the PA MAS script on the slide at this distance? --Funkychinaman (talk) 02:43, 19 February 2013 (EST)
Romanian Draco SBR Carbine
Great page, will check for that movie next time I'm in France! Suggestion; wouldn't the gun that is described as a Romanian Draco be more likely be a (former) East German Mpi-AKS-74NK, or at least inspired by it? The curvature of the magazine seems more consistent with a 5.45x39mm weapon, but the grips (plastic on the East German version) and indeed the muzzle end seem reworked.
Am interested to know what you guys think, --PeeWee055 (talk) 03:51, 19 February 2013 (EST)
