:I think the movie's critical and commercial failure is the film's biggest legacy. People expected a lot from this film, and it had a decent cast, a post-''Schindler's List'' but pre-''English Patient'' Ralph Fiennes, Uma Thurman, and Sean Connery, with an up and coming director. I think the biggest surprise is that no one has ever released the original cut of the film, despite the director's offer to reassemble it for free. Was it that bad, or do they just want people to forget? --[[User:Funkychinaman|Funkychinaman]] ([[User talk:Funkychinaman|talk]]) 13:30, 17 March 2014 (EDT)

The final cut was a disorganized mess, incoherent and full of plot holes, and the premiere was moved from June of 1998 to August, with no previews for critics. Although the film is largely forgotten today..."
