Training Day is the 2017 television continuation of the 2001 crime film that starred Denzel Washington. Set fifteen years after the original film, the television series stars Justin Cornwall as Kyle, a young detective who is asked to infiltrate the ranks of the LAPD's secretive unit known as SIS, or the Special Investigation Section, which is headed up by Frank Roarke (Bill Paxton), a rogue detective with unorthodox methods of combating crime. Training Day premiered in the US on CBS in February of 2017 and aired for 13 episodes (which were all completed before actor Bill Paxton's untimely death in the same month) and was executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and the original film's director Antoine Fuqua. | Training Day is the 2017 television continuation of the 2001 crime film that starred Denzel Washington.
