::::Because: where would it end? I'll just use ArmA's predecessor -- Operation Flashpoint -- as an example. == Separated page for ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead and its DLCs ==
I was thinking about it lately, and it appears that this page is too long, sometimes hard to load up, and a bit... messy. Although not a major issue, I would have suggest creating a page for ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead and all of its DLCs since the game considered to be a stand-alone expansion pack and doesn't need the original ArmA 2.
Any thoughts on the subject? --RaNgeR 15:26, 8 July 2012 (CDT)
- I'd say it had a lot to do with the decision of another user to group the weapon by game/DLC and to add that lengthy intro for each DLC at the beginning of the page (which is unnecessary since we are talking about the weapons - they can go figure out the plot details elsewhere). The reformatting of the page, while making it easier to split the page up, frankly makes this one difficult to read. The addition of the vehicle weapons also added a considerable amount of space.--Markit 17:17, 8 July 2012 (CDT)
:Can't we make the Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead page redirect to the OA part of the ArmA 2 page? -Dannysaysnoo 14:08 09/07/2012
Does the ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead stand alone use the standard ARMA II weapons along with the ones in its own section? If so, a page for Operation Arrowhead would end up being about 90% the length of this page, so what is the point? --commando552 08:20, 9 July 2012 (CDT)
:Operation Arrowhead uses basically all the static weapons and vehicles from ArmA II, but with tan paints, and a few new versions. Making the OA page again would be a bit of a waste. Dannysaysnoo 14:23 09/07/2012
If there isn't any other solution, I guess we'll keep the page as it is... --RaNgeR 09:06, 9 July 2012 (CDT)

Japanese Self-Defence Force DLC teased
http://www.arma2.com/latest-news/new-recon-photos-acquired_en.html Here we can see 3 screenshots, basically spelling out the latest DLC content, based around the Japanese. The only firearm announced was the Howa Type 89. --Dannysaysnoo 21:22, 15 June 2012
From what I know of JGSDF equipment, the small arms we can likely expect to see (in addition to the aforementioned Type 89) should include the Mineba M-9 SMG, SIG-Sauer P220 pistol, Sumitomo NTK-62, M2, & Minimi machine guns, M24 sniper rifle, Howa Type 96 automatic grenade launcher, Carl Gustav & Panzerfaust 3 launchers, and maybe some M4's & Type 64's. And that's not counting any vehicle-mounted weapons. Orca1 9904 18:51, 15 June 2012 (CDT)
Actually that was a part of BIS's April Fools Day joke. Some players over at the BIS Forums analyzed the metadata for the photos and cleaned them up, revealing that they were actually units from the Army of the Czech Republic DLC with fake titles. --Markit 19:25, 15 June 2012 (CDT)
--Damn, Markit is right. Pardon my gaff, I got a little excited there, too. --Dannysaysnoo 20:04, 16 June 2012 (GMT)
- Don't worry about it, man. I myself thought this info was true too... Guess not :P --RaNgeR 14:08, 16 June 2012 (CDT)
- Heh, ta Ranger. Nice job on alphabetizing the lists. Was thinking of sub-dividing the page by content releases, what do you think? --Dannysaysnoo 00:38, 17 June 2012 (GMT)
- I'm not sure what you mean, but you can simply show me by editing the page. --RaNgeR 18:54, 16 June 2012 (CDT)
- Well, currently, the system is arranged as
1. Handguns 1.1 Glock 17.
Wheras I'd prefer to sort by game, as well, like
1. Operation Arrowhead 1.1 Handguns 1.1.1 Glock 17
If you get me. --Dannysaysnoo 00:57, 17th June 2012 (GMT)
- Oh yeah, now I know what you mean. I believe we should go for it. You can start now so I'd see an example, then I'll continue up. --RaNgeR 19:07, 16 June 2012 (CDT)
- I'll do it all at once, this has been a very boring Saturday. If I make any mistakes, be sure and correct them! --Dannysaysnoo 01:14, 17th June 2012 (GMT)
- Affirmative. Good luck soldier! --RaNgeR 19:20, 16 June 2012 (CDT)
- Finished it. Damn that took a while. --Dannysaysnoo 02:03, 17th June 2012 (GMT)
- Well, my friend, you did an excellent job. The page looks better this way. --RaNgeR 20:20, 16 June 2012 (CDT)
- Glad you approve. If more DLC is released, fingers crossed, it'll be much easier to add to the page. :) --Dannysaysnoo 02:21, 17th June 2012 (GMT)
- Yes indeed. the Czech forces DLC should be awesome. --RaNgeR 20:26, 16 June 2012 (CDT)
Separated page for ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead and its DLCs
- Can't we make the Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead page redirect to the OA part of the ArmA 2 page? -Dannysaysnoo 14:08 09/07/2012
Does the ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead stand alone use the standard ARMA II weapons along with the ones in its own section? If so, a page for Operation Arrowhead would end up being about 90% the length of this page, so what is the point? --commando552 08:20, 9 July 2012 (CDT)
- Operation Arrowhead uses basically all the static weapons and vehicles from ArmA II, but with tan paints, and a few new versions. Making the OA page again would be a bit of a waste. Dannysaysnoo 14:23 09/07/2012
If there isn't any other solution, I guess we'll keep the page as it is... --RaNgeR 09:06, 9 July 2012 (CDT)
Suppressor
For the AAC suppressor on the Beretta M9, does it have ironsights built-on in real-life, or is that just something the developers put in? Laqueesha (talk)
Unneeded screenshots
This page seems to have a number of them, like screenshots of some of the aiming reticles. Take these from the M4 and M16A4 entries:
These from the G36 entries:
And these from the XM8 entries:
They all show the exact same thing against different backgrounds. Ten different screenshots showing three optic reticles. Many of these "aim" screenshots could be pruned away without taking away from the page's completion, IMO. Spartan198 (talk) 22:53, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
- I wouldn't mind if it was the same screenshot shared between the scopes. Using the same one might put less strain on loading. Dannysaysnoo (talk) 11:45, 5 June 2013 (GMT)
