Sicario (Spanish for "hitman") is a 2015 crime thriller directed by Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners) and written by Taylor Sheridan (Sons of Anarchy). Emily Blunt stars as Kate Macer, an FBI SWAT agent assigned to the FBI's Phoenix Field Office, who becomes involved with an elite anti-drug task force led by a shadowy government official (Josh Brolin) and his mysterious Mexican partner (Benicio del Toro). The cast also includes Jon Bernthal and Jeffrey Donovan. A sequel, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, which also was written by Sheridan and with Josh Brolin, Benicio del Toro, and Jeffrey Donovan returning to reprise their roles, was released in June of 2018 by Sony and Columbia Pictures.
The following weapons were used in the film Sicario:
Pistols
Glock 19
Kate Macer (Emily Blunt) and other FBI agents carry a third generation Glock 19 as their main sidearm, the former notably using hers during the shootout at the Juárez-El Paso border crossing.
Glock 17
Alejandro (Benicio del Toro) also uses a fourth generation Glock 17 in several scenes.
Beretta 92FS
Delta Force operators can be seen carrying Beretta 92FS pistols in their thigh holsters during the shootout at the border crossing. Mexican Federal Police officers carry Berettas in their drop leg holsters during security escort in Juarez. Silvio (Maximiliano Hernández) carries a Beretta in his hip holster when posing as a Mexican Federal officer. A Sonora cartel member is later seen wielding a Beretta onto Silvio.
SIG-Sauer P226 DAK
A Sonora Cartel gunman uses a SIG-Sauer P226 DAK during the border crossing shootout.
FN Five-seveN
Manuel Diaz (Bernardo P. Sarancino) retrieves an FN Five-seveN USG when he is pulled over by the police.
Heckler & Koch Mark 23
Alejandro (Benicio del Toro) uses a suppressed Heckler & Koch Mark 23 during the climax.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
Alejandro (Benicio del Toro) uses a Heckler & Koch MP5A3 with a Gemtech suppressor, KAC railed handguards and an Aimpoint sight. An unsuppressed MP5A3 with a Surefire forend is used by a cartel gunman during the border crossing shootout.
Heckler & Koch MP5SD3
Alejandro's MP5A3 becomes a Heckler & Koch MP5SD3 with an Aimpoint sight in non-firing scenes.
Smith & Wesson M76
A cartel gunman attempts to draw a Smith & Wesson M76 submachine gun during the border crossing shootout.
Rifles
M4A1 Carbine
FBI Agents Kate Mercer (Emily Blunt), Reggie Wayne (Daniel Kaluuya) and Phoenix Police Department SWAT officers use M4A1 Carbines with EOTech 553 sights and/or Aimpoint CompM2 CCO sights and foregrips during the film's opening raid in Chandler, Arizona. During the US-Mexican border scene, DEA Agent Steve Forsing (Jeffrey Donovan) and Delta Force commandos also use M4A1 Carbines with EOTech 553 sights and foregrips. Mexican Federal Police officers, Border Patrol Officers, and cartel members carry M4A1s with detachable carrying handle rear iron sights and older A2 rounded handguards. At least two Phoenix SWAT officer wield M4A1s with black Magpul MOE furniture and ACOG scopes in the first minutes of the film and are carried as well by Delta Force commandos, most notably by the team leader (Dylan Kenin) during the night raid to the tunnels in conjunction with the standard M4A1. Its possible these may be airsoft replicas as well like the G&P M4 MOE CQBR but these rifles feature 14.5 in barrels.
Daniel Defense M4A1
Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) uses a Daniel Defense M4A1 with a foregrip, Magpul PMAG, EOTech 553 sight, and SureFire M720V RAID flashlight as his main weapon.
Colt Model 933
A Mexican Federal Police officer is seen wielding a Colt Model 933.
G&P M4 MOE CQBR
During the border shootout, Delta Force commandos use what are likely airsoft replica G&P M4 MOE CQBR rifles. Border Patrol and ICE Agents are also seen with these rifles as they are guarding a large group of captured immigrants.
M16A4
During the night raid journey to the hidden tunnels, two Delta operatives have what appears to be M16A4 type rifles fitted with bipods and EOTech XPS sights as seen through thermal vision.
Heckler & Koch G36C
One of the Delta Force commandos can be seen wielding a Heckler & Koch G36C with an EOTech sight.
AKMSU
One of the cartel gunmen at the border crossing wields an AKMSU.
AK-103
An AK-103 rifle (likely an American semi-auto clone such as the Arsenal SLR-107FR) is used by a cartel hitman disguised as a Federal police officer (or a corrupt Federal police officer doing jobs for the cartel) during the border crossing shootout. A similar rifle is also seen in Silvio's (Maximiliano Hernández) home.
AKMS (Shortened)
One of Fausto Alarcon's bodyguards uses a shortened AKMS rifle.
Remington 700 PSS
During the film's opening raid, a SWAT sniper uses a Remington 700 PSS to provide cover for Kate's team.
Machine Guns
FN M249E2 SAW
M249 SAW machine guns are mounted on Mexican Federal Police pickups.
M230 Chain Gun
The M230 Chain Gun is seen with AH-64 Apaches inside a US military base.
Shotguns
Mossberg 590 Mariner Cruiser
A member of the cartel uses a Mossberg 590 Mariner Cruiser during a shootout with the FBI.
