Cop Land is a 1997 American crime drama written and directed by James Mangold and stars Sylvester Stallone as Freddy Heflin, the sheriff of a small New Jersey town populated almost entirely by officers of the New York City Police Department. Heflin begins to clash with these officers when a young hero cop goes missing and the others attempt to cover it up.
