Blue Ruin is an independent thriller film written and directed by Jeremy Saulnier, and funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign. It follows a drifter (Macon Blair) who returns to his hometown seeking revenge after his parents' supposed killer is released from prison.
The following weapons were used in the film Blue Ruin:
Early in the film, Dwight (Macon Blair) steals a gun case from a parked truck, only to discover the revolver inside is protected by a trigger lock. He attempts to remove the trigger lock by hitting it repeatedly with a crowbar, which, predictably, is ineffective and destroys the gun. For this scene the filmmakers used an EKOL Viper, a blank-fire only weapon, rather than destroy an actual working firearm.
One of the weapons that Ben (Devin Ratray) offers to Dwight (Macon Blair) is a Ruger Mk III, which he describes as firing "its own nine millimetre cartridge" and instructs Dwight that it must be loaded with stripper clips. Both of these statements are incorrect, although it is possible that the scene was written with another firearm in mind. Later in the film, Ben makes mention of giving Dwight a "Steyr" as a secondary weapon, meaning perhaps that the filmmakers had confused the Ruger with a Steyr M1912 that does indeed load from stripper clips.
Intratec TEC-9
Kris Cleland (Eve Plumb) draws and fires an Intratec TEC-9 at the end of the film, which is kept duct-taped underneath the seat of a reclining armchair in the Cleland home.
Smith & Wesson 645 (airsoft)
A cheap airsoft version of the Smith & Wesson 645 can be seen in the pawnshop.
The final weapon that Ben (Devin Ratray) initially shows to Dwight (Macon Blair) is a Ruger Mini-14 GB. Dwight then uses the Mini-14 while interrogating Teddy (Kevin Kolack), who also briefly uses it after overpowering Dwight.
Rossi Circuit Judge
After Dwight (Macon Blair) proves to be inept with firearms to the degree that he misses from two yards with a Mini-14, Ben (Devin Ratray) supplies him with a Rossi Circuit Judge loaded with buckshot, which he uses for the remainder of the film.
After Ben opens his safe with the guns, a Heckler & Koch HK91 can be seen in it.
Colt M4
Dwight (Macon Blair) finds a Colt M4 at the Clelands' home, among other weapons.
Springfield Armory M1A
Dwight finds a great many weapons at the Clelands' home, which he confiscates, wraps in a bed sheet, and drops into a nearby lake. The Springfield Armory M1A can be seen among it.
Armalite AR-10
The Armalite AR-10 with black finish also can be seen at the at the Clelands' home. Given the general outlook of this, it looks like a some replica, maybe even rubber one for stunts.
Numerous unknown rifles can be seen in the Clelands' home.
Shotguns
Double Barrelled Shotgun
Several double barrelled shotguns are seen in the film. The first is seen in the hands of Teddy (Kevin Kolack) and later Dwight (Macon Blair) at Dwight's sister Sam's house. At least one more is seen at the Clelands' home, and another is seen used by William at the end of the film.
Pump Action Shotgun (Non Gun)
Several firearms are seen in a pawnshop that Dwight visits. A Non Gun Pump Action Shotgun can be seen among them.
Other
Crossbow
A crossbow of unknown make or model is seen used by one of the Clelands to shoot Dwight in the leg.
Cleland Photo Album
Several weapons are seen in photographs in a photo album at the Clelands' home.
