He subsequently appeared in such films as The Kingdom, Jarhead, Miami Vice (2006), Django Unchained, White House Down and Ray, a feature for which he would subsequently receive the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of the blind musician Ray Charles. In the same year he won for Ray, Foxx was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film Collateral.
