The Chauchat-Ribeyrolles 1918 submachine gun refers to two prototype French Firing Port Weapons developed during late World War I by the same designers behind the Chauchat, intended for use on the Renault FT 17. The action of the weapon is based on the R.S.C. Mle 1917 semiautomatic rifle. The first model used a special eight-round Mannlicher-Berthier clip, while the second model used modified Chauchat magazines.
