The film was produced, co-written, and directed by Paul Haggis and the cast included Matt Dillon, Thandie Newton, Don Cheadle, Shaun Toub, Ryan Phillippe, Terrence Howard and Sandra Bullock. Crash would subsequently be nominated for six Academy Awards and would receive four, including the Award for Best Picture. The film would later be adapted in 2008 as a 13-episode television series that premiered on the Starz Network.

The Beretta 92FS is the main sidearm of the majority of the police officers in the film including Officer Tom Hansen (Ryan Phillippe).
Smith & Wesson Model 36
Anthony (Chris "Ludacris" Bridges) and Peter (Larenz Tate) pull Smith & Wesson Model 36 revolvers on Cameron Thayer (Terrence Howard) when they try to carjack him.
Smith & Wesson Model 19 Snub Nose
A Nickel-plated Smith & Wesson Model 19 Snub Nose revolver with pearl grips is found in the car of a slain off-duty police officer at the beginning of the film.
