In Ep.2, set in 1940, soldiers of Latvian army are also armed with full-lenght Mauser rifles that appear to be [[Mauser Gewehr 1898]] rifles but have turned down bolt handles. According to ''Mauser Military Rifles of the World'' by Robert W. D. Ball, such combination was used on Radfahrer Gewehr 98 (Bicycle Troops Rifle) and on standard Gewehr 98, modified in 1915-16 for use as sniper rifles. Standard Mauser 98 rifle is carried by Bruno ([[Martins Verdins]]) in Ep.4.
