Could be in this particular screenshot, but as with Dead Island 1, the firearm models in Riptide are pretty bad so I'm not surprised if they goofed that one up. Plus I didn't like burst-rifles in the game, immediately selling them away before I could take a good look at them. --SSgt_LuLZ (talk) 18:20, 17 December 2015 (GMT)

Dead Island Riptide: Definitive Edition weapons
Dead Island Riptide: Definitive Edition replaces some of the weapon models in the original version of the game. The standard pistol has been replaced by the Beretta 84F Cheetah/Bersa Thunder 9 combo from Dying Light, the heavy pistol has been replaced by the Heckler & Koch USP/SIG-Sauer P228 combo, also from Dying Light, and the assault rifle has been replaced by the Bushmaster ACR/SIG SG 556 combo from...you guessed it; Dying Light. Would these changes to the Definitive Edition necessitate an update to this article, or the creation of a new article specifically for Dead Island Riptide: Definitive Edition? Also, these changes are present in Dead Island: Definitive Edition as well, so that page may require an update of its own. --SpectralNova (talk) 11:10, 10 August 2017 (EDT)

M16

The M16 in the screenshot clearly has a forward assist, so it cannot be an SP1. It also has A1 sights, so I'm guessing it is an M16A1. --SmithandWesson36 22:47, 1 September 2012 (CDT)

I also see A2 style handguards so a M16A1 with A2 handguards is correct?

M16A1 with A2 style handguards - 5.56x45mm

I'm not entirely sure about this, but if you look just ahead of Logan's hand on the handguard, the handguard looks as if it slopes downward like on the triangular handguard of the A1, so it might just be a regular A1. --SmithandWesson36 23:28, 1 September 2012 (CDT)

Lets just say its an A1 until some more shots are released.Mr.Ice 23:54, 1 September 2012 (CDT)

Works for me. --SmithandWesson36 23:57, 1 September 2012 (CDT)

The new "They Thought Wrong" trailer shows the M16 in action and it does seem to have A2 hanguards.

Does it matter? Let's just hope the weapon models aren't as awful as in Dead Island the first. --Gunmaster2011 20:10 25th September 2012

An unknown pistol boxed in red.

Added some images

Since the game is free to play this weekend, I went ahead and grabbed a few shots of some of the weapons and added them. I would grab more, but unfortunately the game makes me a bit queasy. --SeanWolf (talk) 22:26, 17 September 2015 (EDT)

Weapons missing from page

Surprised how incomplete the list is, despite this game coming out years ago. It will take some time for me to get images, but I clearly remember these weapons appearing in the game:

 • Desert Eagle - As the 'Heavy Pistol', brought over from Dead Island.
 • Flare Gun - possibly Orion Flare gun, useful for lighting dark areas up or setting zombies on fire.
 • Advanced Taser M26 - Common drops, kinda useless actually.
 • Remington 700 - Sniper rifle, treated as single-shot rifle, as new round is inserted directly into chamber after every shot.
 • Dragunov SVD - Very rare semi-auto sniper rifle; can only be obtained as quest reward or lvl 3 lockpick crate.

Dead Island Riptide: Definitive Edition weapons

The standard pistol has been replaced by the Beretta 84F Cheetah/Bersa Thunder 9 combo from Dying Light, the heavy pistol has been replaced by the Heckler & Koch USP/SIG-Sauer P228 combo, also from Dying Light, and the assault rifle has been replaced by the Bushmaster ACR/SIG SG 556 combo from...you guessed it; Dying Light.
