Strongly doubt about Izhmash. All Russian sources claim that Gepard was designed on short-living Reks (or REX) company in Sankt-Peterburg. Gepard was never produced in more than several pieces for testing. Greg-Z (talk) 13:12, 20 July 2017 (EDT)
- The source I got it from did say it was from REX, but it also claimed the REX company was a subsidiary of "Izmash", which, I assume is Izhmash. The source was a Polish gun website, as far as I remember. -SeptemberJack (talk) 21:57, 20 July 2017 (EDT)
- I found a good article about the history of Gepard (Here, but it's in Russian). The designers of Gepard were officers of Rzhevsky Artillery Test Field ("Rzhevsky Poligon") in St.Peterburg. In case if Gepard would be adopted by military or law enforcement, it could be manufactured on Izhmash, but this didn't happen. So, 1) Gepard was designed not by Izhmash design bureau, 2) it was not manufactured on Izhmash. Greg-Z (talk) 13:36, 21 July 2017 (EDT)

"Curiously, the first article about "Cheetah" appeared in the American press. Its author was an employee of the Izhevsk plant V. Shilin, who got acquainted with the submachine gun in the negotiations on possible production at Izhmash."
I also found a source claiming Tula manufatured them, which the source you gave me states just that Tula had a bureau working on it at the time. Oh also, here's that polish source I mentioned earlier. If I could find more info about REX (or REKS) then I can make a page for it - otherwise, it'll stay on Izhmash's page for now. -SeptemberJack (talk) 23:34, 21 July 2017 (EDT)
