Born in Texas in 1954, raised under the old way of standards from the 30's and 40's because my parents were a little older by the time I came along, so I was raised with a gun in hand,but to make sure I didn't "stray" from the straight and narrow, my rearing was done with a belt across my back. When I came of age, and after University studies, I went into the Army as a green beret. By the time I finally got married, I had lived a full life. I had been shot in the right tibia with a .45 sub machine gun, shot in the back with a crossbow bolt, I had run through a glass door, been run over by a car, and had been beaten up more times than I can even remember, and somehow lived through them all. In short, you could say very simply, "I was born with a .357 in hand, a M16 Strapped to my back, and I am an American Man."

Unfortunately, VETs are now considered the most violent and largest security risk to our country. I can't say how THAT happened. I had done my duty for my country, I worked hard all my life, took as good a care of my family as I have been able to, never arrested for anything larger than a parking ticket, and all of a sudden I woke up one morning and I was at the top of the list of the NSA's "keep track of" list. How did that happen? What did I do?
