When Deke Simons ([[Jack Elam]]) confronts his companion Ed Mabry, he holds a [[Winchester Model 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine]], anachronistic for 1884 when the plot is set. Later Simons uses a Winchester 1892 rifle instead of the carbine, but when his rifle falls in hands of Sam Burnett ([[James Stewart]]), it switches back to a carbine. Jamie Bowen (Don Galloway) and Alexander Bowen ([[Brian Keith]]) are also seen with 1892 carbines.

When Deke Simons ([[Jack Elam]]) threatens Martha and Hilary Evans, he is armed with a [[Winchester Model 1892|Winchester Model 1892 Rifle]] instead of previously seen carbine. During the ensuing fight between Simons and Sam Burnett ([[James Stewart]]), Martha Evans ([[Maureen O'Hara]]) picks up the rifle, and then she hands it to Sam.
