	This weapon predated other repeating shotguns like the Winchester 1887 and 1897 models yet was not as successful. Does anyone know why? 	:Well, it wasn't nearly as strong a design as the Winchesters, and didn't have Winchester's marketing machine backing it up. The company actually folded in 1890 and Bannerman's bought the design, but they were never all well built as the original Spencers. That said they were at least somewhat commercially sucessful, enough were made that you can still find them.
