[[John Krasinski]] returns from ''[[A Quiet Place\|the original film ]]'' to write and direct the sequel and Krasinski's real life wife [[Emily Blunt]] reprises her role as Evelyn Abbott, who along with her children venture from their home into the outside world as they attempt to survive against new threats other than the sound-sensitive aliens. The cast includes [[Cillian Murphy]] and [[Djimon Hounsou]]. The sequel was scheduled for theatrical release on March 20, 2020, but this was pushed back to September 4, 2020, eventually premiering on movie screens on May 28, 2021. The film was subsequently released in July of 2021 on the streaming service Paramount +.
