He finds out that she is gangster moll Jo Elliot and he becomes involved with the Capper Regan gang. When the cops show up the gang is on the run and Nick goes along with them. When their car breaks down they decide to stay at the farmhouse of Pop Adams who is blind. As the weeks pass they realize that this life on the farm is more rewarding then the life of crime. During this time Nick falls in love with Pop Adams' daughter Linda and Jo is dating the local mayor. Then everything goes ary as Caper Regan shows up to hide also and plan a heist at the local bank. Caper Regan robs the bank but Nick, Red and Spudsy decide to fight against him. Red and Spudsy vow to go straight after a short prison term and return back to the farm to help Pop Adams.
