Dick Francis: Blood Sport is a 1989 adaptation of Dick Francis' 1967 novel Blood Sport. It was one of the three Dick Francis adaptations released as TV movies in 1989 starring Ian McShane as jockey club investigator David Cleveland, along with In the Frame and Twice Shy. Oddly enough, the character of David Cleveland was only the protagonist in one Dick Francis novel, Slay Ride, but is the protagonist in all three films.
