	~~The Colt Flare Launcher is is a 37mm flare launcher built~~ to looks like an [[M203 grenade launcher]] and is commonly mistaken for on in films on this site. It is built for civilian use as an under slung rifle commonly mounted under M16/AR-15s variants and many other rifles. It is preferred for film use over a genuine M203 mainly because, unlike the M203, it is not considered a Class III "Destructive Device" in the U.S. and is therefore not subject to NFA regulations. It is also much cheaper than the M203, at around $200, whereas the M203 often sells for $1500+.
