The Weapons used in Grand Theft Auto IV, produced by Rockstar Games, developed by Rockstar North.

Melee:
Combat Knife
The combat knife is a small, simple Bowie knife, offering improved damage compared to fists, but severely lacking when it's compared to firearms. With the knife enabled, you are able to perform silent stealth kills on enemies in the game.

Baseball Bat
A sturdy, reliable Alabama Lie Detector. Simple and effective, but possibly less effective than the knife.

Handguns
Glock 17
The standard handgun in Grand Theft Auto IV is visibly a Glock 17. It is used by the police, as well as various other characters throughout the game. The cheapest for ammo and for the gun itself, the Glock holds a standard capacity of 17 rounds.

IMI Desert Eagle
The .357 Magnum Desert Eagle, called a 'Combat Pistol' in the game, is the more powerful handgun in GTA IV, and is used by a variety of characters throughout the game.

Shotguns:
Ithaca 37 "Stakeout"
The Ithaca 37 "Stakeout", is the "Pump" entry shotgun. It is used by various gang members and police. For some reason, the in-game clone has a side mounted ejection port, instead of a bottom loading/ejection port that all Ithaca 37 shotguns are fitted with in real life. Also, the in-game clone can hold 8 shells, four more than it's real-life counterpart.

Remington 1100
The Remington 1100 semi-auto is the "Combat" entry shotgun that becomes available later in the game, and can be obtained from Police Cars. The in-game clone can hold 10 shells, two more than it's real-life counterpart.

Sub Machine Guns:
IMI Micro Uzi
The Micro Uzi is used by assorted criminals in Liberty City. The weapon has a standard magazine size of 50 rounds and a fast rate of fire, but severely lacking in accuracy.

SW MP-10
The MP-10 is standard issue to the LCPD SWAT teams and various gang members. This could be an MP5K, but with changes by rockstar.

Assault Rifles:
AKM
The AKM is used almost entirely by criminals in the City.

M4 Carbine
The M4 Carbine is issued to the LCPD S.W.A.T. team and appears to have the carry handle removed and has only a stick-up rear sight.

Sniper Rifles:
Parker Halle Sniper
The basic, bolt action sniper rifle featured in the game is the Parker Halle. It is used by the majority of marksmen in the game. The gun appears to have undergone slight customization, with a 10 round magazine fitted, yet only holds 5.

Heckler & Koch PSG1
The semi automatic sniper rifle is a PSG1. Pinpoint accuracy but overpriced in the game. Holds 10 rounds.

Heavy Weapons
RPG-7V
The RPG-7V is the only rocket launcher in the game. Each warhead has a 3 second fuse from pulling the trigger.

Miscellaneous
M26A1 Grenade
The Grenade has a 5 second fuse from pin release. After 3 seconds, an audible alarm beep is sounded.

Molotov Cocktails
Rudimentary spirit bottles with a rag. Set alight when equipped.

Rocks/Bottles
Simple items found on the street. WOw!
The Colt Python is an extremely powerful handgun and has a low ammunition capacity of 6 bullets. Extremly rare and can usually kill a person in one shot, except for armored law enforcement units like SWAT and FBI. Tommy uses one to execute Diaz with Lance, even if you dont have one equiped in your inventory.
This weapon ISNT extremly rare, it is obtainable by 2 of the 3 cheats, and is used by allot of Amunation clerks, as well as being sold there. It's only Ammo that is rare.

Not the most effective weapon. Has a somewhat low rate of fire compared to other submachine guns in the game, moderate damage, and a high capacity magazine of 50 rounds. Used By Streetwannabes.

Heckler & Koch MP5
One of the most powerful weapons in the game. High rate of fire but slightly less to the Uzi, able to fire long ranges and a moderate ammunition capacity of 30 rounds. Can be found on FBI agents and US Army officers. Ricardo Diaz uses one when Tommy and Lance take over his mansion. Strangely this can also do drive-bys, despite the size and weight of the weapon compared to other SMGs.

‎

Colt M733
Called the "M4" in the game, as the M4 Carbine wouldn't have existed yet in 1986. It's a very powerful assault rifle. High rate of fire and damage. Tommy and Lance use M733s during their assault on Diaz' Mansion. Also used by some Military personel and found spawned across the map.

Ruger AC556
The AC556 is the first assault rifle the player encounters in the game. It has a Slow rate of fire and somewhat innacurate with moderate damage. Can be mistakenly called an AK47 by newer players. Tommy and Lance use two of these weapons to cover Diaz during a Drug Deal gone wrong with the Cubans. It is also used during the mission "All hands on Deck" when Colonel Cortez's sailor's weild these, and Tommy has one too.

A good reliable shotgun with a sort of fast firing rate. Has a low/medium damage. Called "Chrome Shotgun" in game.

Serbu Super Shorty 9
A shotgun with a higher damage than the Remington, but has a slower rate of fire.

Franchi SPAS 12
The most powerful shotgun in the game. has a really fast rate of fire with good damage and a small ammo capacity.

Remington 700
The first sniper rifle the player will most likely encounter in the game. Has good damage and only fires one bullet at a time.

Heckler & Koch PSG-1
The most powerful semi-automatic sniper rifle in the game. Comes with a 7 round magazine, and a laser magnifying scope (Which is somewhat vauge, but more accurate in the long run). Can destroy a car with a whole magazine. Called Sniper .300 in game.

Hand Held GE M134
A hand held M134 minigun that can be bought off from Phil Cassidy after you complete his mission. Extreme rapid rate of fire and damage. An incredibly stupid weapon, as the ammo goes dry quickly. Also you cannot jump, run or shoot down helicopters with it. Some people reckon you cant aim it properly, but it has the same normal crosshair as any other weapon. What do they want, autoaim?.

Flamethrower
A hand held flamethrower that scorches anyone infront of it. Surprisingly, it has a medium-long range than what it initially looks.

RPG-7
The only rocket propelled explosive the player can have in their hands. Extremely effective against helicopters and pretty much anything else. This could be a Type 69 (LOL!) Chinese RPG, but this is uncertain to tell.

M60
Highly effective machine gun with a 100 round capacity. Can easily take down vehicles and can kill a person in one shot. Tommy uses a helicopter mounted one while on a mission for Diaz with Lance, which he later takes off the Heli for use in combat and keeps the wep after the mission.

Molotov Cocktail
One of the types of grenades in the game. Ignites the area with fire that scorches anyone in it.

Grenades
There are two types of grenades in the game. One type which explodes with a timed fuse and another that explodes with a detonator.

Colt M1911A1
The most popular weapon in the game. Has a large ammunition capacity of 17 rounds (as oposed to the actual ammo capaicity of 7 rounds in real life) and low damage(which again is unrealaslitic as this is .45 ACP). It is used by the VCPD, all gang members, and many more. Lance uses his to execute Diaz with Tommy.
Colt Python
The Colt Python is an extremely powerful handgun and has a low ammunition capacity of 6 bullets. Extremly rare and can usually kill a person in one shot, except for armored law enforcement units like SWAT and FBI. Tommy uses one to execute Diaz with Lance, even if you dont have one equiped in your inventory.

If i recall correctly, in the game this REVOLVER ejects shells as it fires.

IMI Uzi
Considerably the second most popular weapon in the game. Has moderate damage and a very fast rate of fire. Used by some law enforcement officers (SWAT, Cheetah Undercover officers) and gang members such as Hihitains and some Cubans.

Intratec TEC-9
A moderatly effective weapon.

Can be found on FBI agents and army officers. Ricardo Diaz uses one when Tommy and Lance take over his mansion. Strangly this can also do drivebys, dispite the size and weight of the weapon compared to other SMGs.

Called the "M4" in the game, as the M4 Carbine wouldn't have existed yet in 1986. It's a very powerful assault rifle. High rate of fire and damage. Tommy and Lance use M733s during their assault on Diaz' Mansion. Also used by some Military people and found spawned across the map.

Mp5
The Heckler & Koch MP5A3 appears as the SAF 9mm. It comes with tri-rail handguards and a forward pistol grip. The gun can also be modifed with an ARO red-dot scope and a suppressor, and a gold-plated version is available for multiplayer use.
You're quite welcome for the WotW help. As for the M16A2 and the Mk 19, the convoy scene should help. I believe one of the humvees (with the gunner wearing sunglasses instead of goggles) has the Mk 19 and the truck full of soldiers (one of which shouts to Robbie that he's gonna get run over) should be bristling with M16A2's. The hilltop battle scene would be another place to check for M16A2's if the convoy yields no results. Orca1 9904 18:30, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Sure. I have a dozen Remington 870s set up for films, but none in that variation, but I will ask around to the other Weapons wranglers and see who has one like the one you're looking for. I will be taking shots of my 870s in the standard police and police folding stock versions. I will also try to get a pic of the 870 that Linda Hamilton actually used in T2. But a lot of the guns are used in a film and then retrofitted to look different for another movie. Thanks for the compliment. I sure would like people to see that IMFDB has REAL pics of REAL movie guns and not just copies of pics from Gun sites or (worse!) Airsoft pics. You know it DOES cost me money to get pics of some of those particular guns from famous movies .... ==Re:Hey==

Oh, don't worry, I don't really want to "compete" or anything for most screenshots in a movie. But it must be said that Hard Boiled really does have a ridiculous number of different types of firearms, so once I get a new computer that's actually capable of playing DVDs without slowing down, I can get back to work on that. That, and the fact that making arrangements to move to Texas are proving rather difficult, are the reasons I keep delaying my work on the page.

You are right...I really should get the Boyz n the Hood and Belly pages re-done. I still have the screenshots I took before the Great Crash, and there aren't that many guns in either movie, so it's something I could get done.

:Wait, so you're one of the mods? And Orca, too? Whew! You know, for a while, I've thought this site's been going without any mods, because I see Bunni and Wykiscop (errr, I know I butchered that) so rarely.
:Yeah, I'm still trying to fix up the Beretta page. Is there a way to do breaks after each section for the different variants? I know there is in Wikipedia, but I couldn't get the same thing to work here. The Beretta page still needs some work, so does the SIG P220 series page, and the M1911 page is basically a disaster right now! Also, I did see your Shooter page - nice work! Sadly, I sold my Taurus PT92, which was a very old one (wood grips and no third position decocker) many years ago to pay for my AK, and now my S&W 4506 is my only pistol. I like Berettas and Tauruses, but I only prefer the Taurus slightly because I think the safety is in a better position (you can reach it with your thumb more easily than the Beretta).
Beretta
It's exactly as I've spelled it: Beretta 92FS. Sorry to be nitpicky, but you know, that's what we're here for.

:It looks awesome now! I actually have the trilogy on DVD and have thought about screencapping this movie (and the first) for a while, but like a lot of things, I never seem to get around to it. But...that's OK, cause you've done a fine job yourself!

:One thing I should point out is that you might want to take a screencap of the end when Simon's men are all grabbing MP5Ks out of the crates before they try to flee the cops. I remember all of the MP5Ks in that particular scene being Daisy BB replicas of MP5Ks, and I figured that might be worth pointing out.
::Hey, Alienqueen, now that we have our own genuine 92F picture courtesy of MoviePropMaster, do you want to start replacing the Beretta image that we've been using since the site was started? Last I checked, we have over 100 pages linking to the old Beretta image, so it might take a while, but I think it's worth our while to phase out older images taken from other sites, and replace them with MPM's images.
::BTW, to answer your question: There is pretty much zero difference between American-made 92Fs and Italian-made guns besides the markings. ==WTF?==
I leave for a few days and all Hell breaks loose! hahaha ;) What was going on? I think someone was being careless with image overwrites. I guess now I'm a mod, though I will pretty much only have time to protect images (and the occasional banning of a vandal, but only if I'm 100% sure). ;) You guys did a great job of reverting pics, many times BEFORE I even noticed it myself! :) That was pretty seamless and invisible support, but I suppose that it got tiresome for you guys. I guess I won't have to complain to a mod if I see more vandalism on the site. Thanks. I do like the ability to edit the uploaded images. MoviePropMaster2008

edit: I still can't figure why someone would overwrite an image that was SHOT for IMFDB with a 'stolen' shot from the net. Weird.

870
As for the DOTD 870 I would have to get Mossberg ghost ring sights and PUT them on an 870, which is what I'm pretty sure the armorer did. I don't have ANY mossberg sights and currently aren't ready to spend the $$ to pick them up, but I will try to get someone with both to do us the favor and swap them for a pic. I'm pretty sure that will do it for the page. :) Will keep that on the list of things to do.
One thing I'd recommend...for now, we should leave the movie screencaps up, but only if they're ones that haven't been replaced by better ones on their pages. Choi's shots from The Killer, for instance, are worth keeping. I'll put them on the page when I get around to it. MT2008 05:03, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

::Yep, that would be a good idea. And wow...between the two of us, we've REALLY put a serious dent in the number of unused images that were in circulation. Unfortunately, as I'm discovering, there are still some users who uploaded images of guns we already have JUST for their own pages - the Chaos page was a good example before I edited it. We're gonna have to watch out for stuff like that, too - unnecessary images of guns that appear on only one page. It looks like user Mmanalang did this quite frequently - I'm gonna have to work on his Revolver page a bit, too. -MT2008 05:15, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. I try to please. I will be shooting a a3 and A4 as well as a Diemaco soon. I really want to start replacing all of the Colt commando and 653 pics when I can. I got better versions of all these guns and as you probably can tell, I've started taking all my pics with a Nikon Digital camera instead of shooting with a film camera and scanning the pics (some of the older ones were that "old School" way). ==Thank you much! :)==
I explained my lighting set up to GM45 (you can check it out on his talk page), but it seems pretty complicated, but not so much once it's already set up. But thanks anyway. 99.999999% of the gun pics on the net SUCK! (also they're probably not public domain which is why IMFDB should try to replace as many of the copyrighted images as soon as possible). I just wonder if anyone notices (other than GM, MT, you and the other heavy duty mods/contributors), i.e. people who just visit IMFDB. So far I haven't seen any of my images pirated on other sites, so that's a good thing. :) hahaha.
I replaced one of my older M4 pics with a new one done with the new digital camera... It's one with aftermarket Rails but it's an iconic M4 image that we didn't have a good one of. It sure is beat up. Though that info is third hand is the only reason I don't post it because I don't have the info directly from the source. The Barrel was replaced about 20 years ago for some reason, which is why the finish doesn't match. It's a bit of TV history, thought you'd get a kick out of it. :) MoviePropMaster2008 23:07, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Hey, have you seen the special feature from the Assault on Precinct 13 (2005)‎ DVD where Charles Taylor (the movie's armorer) shows off the guns used in the movie? Dunno if you've thought of this already, but you should screencaps from that and use them on the page, just as GunMaster did for the Bad Boys page. -MT2008 02:37, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

I have to take the armorer who worked on the specific movie OUT to a nice lunch! hahahaha.
::Distict B13 has tied with Hollow Point. Both have 37. But if I had sorted all the guns on the wedding table section, I'd have had him beat. My computer was recently so dark I couldn't have seen it myself, but I turned the brightness up recently so I could see what the hell was going on. I could tell the 2nd shotgun was a Wincehster 12 because my dad just got one to fix in the shop and I had just been looking at a book that showed the bottom of the shotgun, which looked indentical to the shot in the movie. Thanks for complementing my Toy Soldiers page. I actually bought it off Ebay just to screencap it. I had seen it on TV and wanted to put it on the site because I thought it was cool.

That's so odd that I just thought you guys were regular users like myself. Goes to show how behind I am...

Re:MGS4 M1911A1
Thanks, I wish I had one too. I hope to buy one soon but I'm unemployed and money is a big factor. I've got about $200 now, I'm half way there. Per your request: That looks like a Remington 870 but the rear ghost ring sights look like Mossberg 590 style sights. Weird. I can get a Remington 870 with Ghost ring sights, but the sights I've seen don't look like Ving Rhames' gun. Have you found any shot on the web of the exact configuration that he has? Or did their armorer just put Mossberg Sights on a remington? MPM2008
Beretta
Hi,

This is kinda minor, but just so you know...the Beretta 92FS is not spelled "M92FS", "M92F", or "92 FS" (with a space between the '92' and 'FS').

Don't know if this is good enough. Let me know. I was trying to find one with a Pietro Beretta marking on the slide, but a lot of mine have Beretta USA marked on the slide. If it's not good enough, then I'll keep on looking for one that's not all beat up with a Pietro Beretta marked slide. Alot of our Berettas are heavily customized.

There are some internal differences between the original 92F and the 92FS, however, but I don't think it's terribly relevant for the purposes of this site.
I guess I won't have to complain to a mod if I see more vandalism on the site. Thanks. I do like the ability to edit the uploaded images.
Re: Good news
Excellent! Nice to be rid of that dude finally. I dunno what his problem was, anyway.

I appreciate the nomination for mod, but I must warn you that I'm not sure I can be all that helpful. I'm working 40 hrs. a week now, and I usually don't post from my computer at work. So it's kinda hard for me to keep watch on this site regularly like I could have done when I was still in college. -MT2008

:Oh, I'll most def accept it, provided Bunni's OK with it. I'm sure I can help out to some degree even if I can't always be on the site. I just thought I'd give you a heads-up. -MT2008

Requests
Okay, I'll get to it when I can.

Screencaps
One thing I'd recommend...for now, we should leave the movie screencaps up, but only if they're ones that haven't been replaced by better ones on their pages. Choi's shots from The Killer, for instance, are worth keeping. I'll put them on the page when I get around to it. MT2008 05:03, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

:Yeah, I think so. I'm guessing some of these images may have been uploaded for pages that were lost in the Great Crash. MT2008 05:09, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Re:Jaws
Go for it, I don't own it. I only added stuff to the page because I saw it on TV. If you do do it though, don't forget to cut out any widescreen bars and gets some nice shots of Sheider shooting his guns, because his current pic on his page is mediocre at best. -GM

Got brand new wood for it, since the existing wood was beat to crap... I don't remember if you asked for this or not. MPM2008
4 brothers HK41
Uh, that's not an HK41. the 41 was the early precursor to the HK91 and fires the .308 round. That's a 223 magazine. that's an HK33.MoviePropMaster2008 07:26, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

:Someone else put down that it was an HK41, long before AlienQueen. I hadn't seen this movie in a while and couldn't remember what it was myself, but I doubted it was an HK41. -MT2008 18:28, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Database Error
I just tried to access the article for The Beast of War and got some kind of database error. Think you & Bunni could take a look at it and find out what's wrong? Orca1 9904 21:07, 4 November 2008 (UTC)Orca1_9904
Thanks
Thanks for recommending me as an admin. to bunni. I really like being an admin. Check out my Leone trilogy sometime. That's a fistful of dollars, for a few dollars more, and the good the bad and the ugly if you don't know. I finally got them done. -GM
:Nice work with Four Brothers, btw.

New pics
The Digital camera sure makes a difference. MoviePropMaster2008 20:07, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Thank you much! :)
I will also try to do the LE version and one with an M203, more like Thomas Jane's version in "the PUnisher". ==Luger P08==
Hahahaha. I finally posted a pic of one of the Lugers we have in inventory. Apparently this is one of the Luger P08s used on the Television show "Hogan's Heroes" in the 1960s.
Assault on Precinct 13
Hey, have you seen the special feature from the Assault on Precinct 13 (2005)‎ DVD where Charles Taylor (the movie's armorer) shows off the guns used in the movie? Dunno if you've thought of this already, but you should screencaps from that and use them on the page, just as GunMaster did for the Bad Boys page. -MT2008 02:37, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
: I should get rid of those pics tho, the armorer was actually showing guns similair to the ones in the film. I only realized this after I had finished uploading them. Shooter had a similair special featture.
