:They were too short to be M4s. Some of them had 10" barrels (Mark 18 length), while others had the 6.5" barrels (Olympic Arms K23B length). All had full-length rail forearms, most had iron sights, and different types of stocks. I'm saying Smith & Wesson 4566TSW (Tactical Smith & Wesson) - [[User: Czar|Czar]]

This is actually a 5906TSW. I base this on three things. 1) the bore size is too small compared to the end of the guide rod to be a .45 2) there is only a single digit before "Tactical" on the slide. The 5906 and 5903 say "9 Tactical" and the 40 and 45 say "40 Tactical" and "45 Tactical", respectively. 3) the gun grip has a curved backstrap. :::I'm sorry, Pawelm, but I really think you're wrong on this (the fact that you initially mistook the gun for a Glock already calls your visual acuity into question). First of all, the trigger guard is not clearly visible in the bottom two pics, so I don't know how you can tell that it's a USP trigger guard. Second, look mostly at the sights (which are the most visible part of the gun). == Season 5 Part 2 ==

I've been watching the new episodes as they're aired and I've noticed the following weapons:
Walt's M60 machine gun makes a brief appearance in the first episode, S05E09 "Blood Money". In S05E10, "Buried", we see a sniper rifle leaning on a railing at Declan's cook site. It appears to be a Remington 700PSS and closely resembles the rifle used by Gaff in S04E09 "Bug". Also in this episode, we see an AA-12 with a drum magazine in the hands of Kenny, while Jack carries a Browning Hi-Power and Todd has an unknown pistol tucked in his waistband. Two White Power gunmen are also seen with an M4A1 and a pump-action shotgun with an extended magazine tube. In S05E11, "Confessions", Jesse is seen taking what appears to be a Seecamp LWS-32 from Saul's desk, which he uses to threaten Saul and Huell. Shortly afterward, Walt is seen taking a 5-shot .38 snub-nosed revolver out of its hiding place inside a Coke machine at the carwash. My best guess would be a Smith & Wesson Model 442. The intent of the writers may have been to imply that this was the same revolver Walt used to kill Mike (the fate of which we never learned). In S05E12, "Rabid Dog", Walt is seen with the .38 revolver again while searching his house. Also in this episode, Hank holds his newly reissued Glock 22 on Jesse when he discovers him trying to burn down Walt's house. In S05E13, "To'hajiilee", Walt is again seen with the .38 revolver, although he discards it when he gives himself up to Hank. Hank again carries a Glock 22 in this episode, and while Steve Gomez is seen with a Glock in his holster in prior episodes, he is seen carrying a Mossberg 590 when he, Hank, and Jesse track Walt into the desert. This may be the same gun seen in "Buried". When the White Power crew arrives at the scene, Jack and Kenny are again armed with a Browning Hi-Power and an AA-12 respectively, while Todd carries an unknown handgun with a nickel, stainless, or chrome slide (possibly a Kahr K9 or variant). The other three White Power gunmen are armed with two M4A1s and what appears to be a Browning Automatic Rifle with its bipod folded.

The gun Walter pulls from the coke machine is not the Ruger LCR. It has for sure morphed into a Smith & Wesson J-Frame, perhaps a Model 442.

:To me it looks like the guy is holding his finger just slightly above the trigger area, not excellent but still better than most games have, to be honest the only game i can remember that had great trigger discipline was MGS4 where Snake kept his finger completely off the triggers of all weapons unless he was aiming them, but i think that since they're both video games, bad trigger discipline can be excused since i doubt developers want to spend who knows how many hours giving every character separate finger animations for trigger discipline, and also there is the fact that the character can have their fingers wrapped around the triggers, but the players have theirs completely off the fire button, so essentially, it's our own 'trigger' discipline that video game characters have (least that's how i see it) we should save the bad trigger discipline arguments for movies.[[User:Kornflakes89|Kornflakes89]] 16:26, 8 March 2012 (CST)

As this stock can be found on Mk. 18s, Model 933s and M4s (all of which this gun could be depending on how the suppressor fits) that doesn't really help. ==Weapon Selection hope==

So I don't know about most of you, but one of the worst aspects to these games is the frank lack of weapons for which you to use. I am not saying that the game doesn't need 100 different firearms, but there is no need to use the low level weapons once the higher tier weapons are unlocked (compare the Glock and Desert Eagle in GTA IV, how often do you use the Glock after unlocking). If nothing else I hope that this game has at least 3-4 variations in firearm. There are tons of vehicles to choose from, but you dont spend most of your time offing people with cars. Having to use the same repetitive weapon again and again bores me. The way I have seen it (for example), in the pistol category there should be a standard (Glock), Hi standard (1911), Burst (Beretta 93R), Special (Silenced [if no ability to customize]), and Magnum (Desert Eagle/Equivilant). Now this is a very basic look, but I think you can catch my drift. Same thing for shotguns where there should be a Double Barrell (For range and/or sawed off), Pump (Mossberg), Semi Auto (Benelli M4), and Automatic (USAS-12/AA-12). You can make any adjustments for which weapons are in which category does not matter. Yeah, I'm also thinking some kind of short-barreled FAL for the new AR, judging by the magazine and shape of the mag well. It and the Tavor are certainly new and different choices considering GTA's past being dominated by the combo of an AK and M16 variants, which is a good thing. That's four assault rifles altogether now so far (five if the CQBR on concept art shown above is included in the game), so let's hope the other weapon categories have as diverse a selection. It has the heat shield, gas block, and front sight of an M249, the magazine looks more like a belt bag, and the stock looks derived from the fixed stock of the Masada/ACR. The optic is an out-of-scale Elcan SpecterDR and it has a Magpul AFG2 foregrip. The receiver area lacks details, but I'm going to hazard a guess that it's some kind of M249-based machine gun. I don't think it is a placeholder, but I think there is a possibility that it is a bug where the wrong texture is on the model or it is using the low detail distance model or something, as there are several inconsistencies that make not sense. Firstly you have the fact that there is what appears to be a rail (which is scaled way too small) on the side of the slide. Then you have those weird horizontal black lines at the front of the slide and frame. Assuming that the black square at the back is meant to be the slide serrations, they span across both the slide and the top of the frame, which I have never seen on a real pistol. There are generally also lines all over the place on both the slide and frame which have no business being there on either a real gun, or a gun that is suggested by the silhouette of this. To top it off it also looks like it is ejecting rifle sized brass, but this is really the least of its problems. To me this gun looks ''so'' bad that it must be an error or something. So I don't know about most of you, but one of the worst aspects to these games is the frank lack of weapons for which you to use. I am not saying that the game doesn't need 100 different firearms, but there is no need to use the low level weapons once the higher tier weapons are unlocked (compare the Glock and Desert Eagle in GTA IV, how often do you use the Glock after unlocking). If nothing else I hope that this game has at least 3-4 variations in firearm. There are tons of vehicles to choose from, but you dont spend most of your time offing people with cars. Having to use the same repetitive weapon again and again bores me. The way I have seen it (for example), in the pistol category there should be a standard (Glock), Hi standard (1911), Burst (Beretta 93R), Special (Silenced [if no ability to customize]), and Magnum (Desert Eagle/Equivilant). Same thing for shotguns where there should be a Double Barrell (For range and/or sawed off), Pump (Mossberg), Semi Auto (Benelli M4), and Automatic (USAS-12/AA-12). Yeah, I'm also thinking some kind of short-barreled FAL for the new AR, judging by the magazine and shape of the mag well. It and the Tavor are certainly new and different choices considering GTA's past being dominated by the combo of an AK and M16 variants, which is a good thing. That's four assault rifles altogether now so far (five if the CQBR on concept art shown above is included in the game), so let's hope the other weapon categories have as diverse a selection. And considering how big the weapon selection in [[Red Dead Redemption|RDR]] was, I'm feeling pretty confident about it. Maybe my wish for a P226 could still come to pass after all? It has the heat shield, gas block, and front sight of an M249, the magazine looks more like a belt bag, and the stock looks derived from the fixed stock of the Masada/ACR. The optic is an out-of-scale Elcan SpecterDR and it has a Magpul AFG2 foregrip. The receiver area lacks details, but I'm going to hazard a guess that it's some kind of M249-based machine gun. I don't think it is a placeholder, but I think there is a possibility that it is a bug where the wrong texture is on the model or it is using the low detail distance model or something, as there are several inconsistencies that make not sense. Firstly you have the fact that there is what appears to be a rail (which is scaled way too small) on the side of the slide. Then you have those weird horizontal black lines at the front of the slide and frame. Assuming that the black square at the back is meant to be the slide serrations, they span across both the slide and the top of the frame, which I have never seen on a real pistol. There are generally also lines all over the place on both the slide and frame which have no business being there on either a real gun, or a gun that is suggested by the silhouette of this. To top it off it also looks like it is ejecting rifle sized brass, but this is really the least of its problems. To me this gun looks ''so'' bad that it must be an error or something. While I've never held an M1, I have held an M14 with one hand. It is not difficult to hold such a weapon with one hand, especially for brief periods. :An M14 is maybe a pound or two lighter (less wood and a little smaller) but Garands are bulky and heavy. They may have been accurate and reliable but they were very cumbersome. Plus many of those soldiers hold the gun with one hand at an forward tilted angle, which would cause quite some strain on the wrist. Holding the thumb to the offside, as shown in the illustration of Upham firing his Garand, is actually the "proper" way to hold the rifle to AVOID getting hit in the nose by one's own thumb in recoil. While the gas operation of the Garand somewhat tames the recoil impulse, there's still plenty. Also, the stock and upper handguard will protect the hand from being pinched by the reciprocating operating rod, as long as the finger tips are not actually stuck in the gap between the two parts of the stock. Upham shows good form, for a guy who appeared to have no prior experience as a rifleman.

Okay I'll be contentious just for the heck of it. I would argue that in combat with adrenalin blasting through your body you might just be able to hold the M1 Garand with one hand for awhile. Not only would you be having a temporary increase in strength but you probably wouldn't notice the discomfort for awhile. Adrenalin is a weird thing. I have to agree that it's not that far fetched to hold an M1 Garand one handed. I own a Mossberg 500 with a 28" barrel and a Mosin Nagant 91/30. The Mossberg is about 7.5lbs and I do one hand hold reloads, holding the shotgun on target. The Mosin is 8 1/2 lbs and I have no trouble holding it one handed. I'm not a trained soldier, nor a weight lifter. But, it seems to me that a trained soldier should have no problem lifting one more pound than I can.

The nickname "Tommy Gun" is derived from either it's use by British troops ("Tommies") early in WWII, or is a reference John T. Thompson, who inspired its development.

Then why is differing or contrary information still on the site? Attention is specifically drawn to Upham's holding his Garand with his thumb off to the side, with the comment that it would cause the very problem that holding the rifle that way will prevent. As you can see in the pic of Vin Diesel, wrapping the thumb around the pistol grip is the way to get a big rap on the nose from your own thumb.
My comments about the Thompson (other than the Tommy Gun reference, which wasn't really specific to anything), is that the currently posted information says the M1A1 replaced the more expensive/complicated M1, when the M1 was actually the first of the "cheap" Thompsons, with the M1A1 being merely the definitive cheap Thompson. The Blish lock deletion, side cocking knob, fixed sight, smooth barrel, and other mods were already present on the M1.

== M2 Mortar ==

I think the opinion on which end of the mortar shell to bang is incorrect. If the mortar shells are time fused (for airburst) the impact on the tail would simulate the high g-forces experienced when firing the shell from the tube. The time element would start burning/turning and then detonate later. If the shells are impact detonated the tail tap would arm the impact fuzing, the next shock would be the shell coming back to earth.

You are correct , mortar roundsare armed when they drop to the bottom of the mortar tube at the instant of firing. The movie is correct, the caption under the pic is wrong. Hitting the nose of the mortar against the base plate as the caption suggest would either do nothing if the fuse is not armed or would cause it to detonate in the guys hand.

== Scope differnces ==

by the looks of things jackson uses three different scopes in some of the pics, i the scene where he is adjusting his scope for windage the scope clearly has a wider front end , in the stand-off scene where wall colapases he is using one the has a wider back end and a completely round front, and in the bell tower the scope has two vertical bars sticking out of the rifle which arent present in the previous scenes

A big problem I see is the caption under the unertl scope states he s twisting the front objective to adjust the elevation . The front objective is adjustable but just like all other scopes with adjustable objective all he is doing is adjusting the parallax. This adjustment keeps the cross hairs from apearing as if there floating around by properly focusing the scope for the range its being used at. Just because there are distance markings on the part he is turning it has nothing to do with elevation. You can clearly see the elevation and windage knobs, which he does adjust at one point , on the top and side of the rear scope mount.

As far as bullet impact and crosshair relationship at the moment of impact for the bullet, of course they dont match , forgetting the fact that its a movie we're talking about the simple fact that it take some length of time between when the shot is fired and the bullet impacts makes this a reality and historicly accurate. Simply put when you pull the trigger on any gun there is a delay before the bullet impacts your target , during this time the gun has begun to recoil, muscles contarct etc and the sights will not be pointed at the same object as they were at the moment of firing, simple physics. It's a Norinco model 77B, you can tell on account of the unusual shaped trigger guard, which doubles as a one handed slide-cycling mechanism, you depress the front of the trigger guard and it causes the slide to cycle back. They might as well be. They wasted over six years' worth of material in ten seconds with RE4 (seriously, what the hell), and ended the entire series' plot arcs in two (with RE5).

I liked Romero's script a hell of a lot better, even if it does go off the rails a little; at least it's still ON them.

The problem I have with the movies (even Degeneration) is that they pull all of these BS "character development"; it's PLOT development. The characters aren't even character in their own right anymore, they're just mouths to say cute little quips and trigger fingers to shoot guns with.

Notice the difference between the cylinders. The forcing cone is very visible on the Model 27. The cylinder is shorter on the Model 27 and the barrel has a distinct taper on the 27. It does appear that Gibson is using a Model 27 when he is shooting up into the Asian gang's vehicle but it's a Model 29 at the beginning of the movie.Now it could be argued that he's using a Model 28 since the 28 does have the plain top strap like the Model 29. But the Modell 28 is just a plain jane version of the Model 27 with a matte blue finish. All the other previously described features still apply.The revolver used by Porter (at least in the beginning) has a bright blue glossy finish. this movie is loosely based on a book set in 1967, before the Gun Control Act of 1968. Therefore there is no background check and very little if any paperwork. Also there are some "shady" pawn shops that will sell a firearm with no paperwork because they know the weapon is hot or has a history. However this leads to the idea that the Beretta 92FS Val uses can't be used then since it wasn't manufactured at that time. He would be using a Beretta 951.

==Back to the revolver controversy.....==

I noticed while looking around that you guys were uncertain about which Smiths were used in the movie. First of all, a Model 27/28 was definitely used in a handful of shots, as you can clearly see the barrel taper. Second, judging by cylinder size, I think that every instance of a Smith without a taper (and those fancy wood finger groove grips) is a Model 19, not a Model 29. The gun just looks a bit to small to be an N Frame in the non-tapered pictures.

As far as the .44 diameter bore argument goes, I've got a Model 19 here and I can tell you, in certain light, the curve on the tip of the bore casts a shadow, making the bore look bigger than it is, so identifying the bore size on a blued Smith is a little tricky and can't really prove anything. Who doesn't love a good controversy? I have to disagree with you. I don't believe it's a Model 19. The ejector rod housing on the N frame is heavier and thicker than the housing on the K frame Model 19. Of course that's just my opinion. First game was unshiny at all, why would they make another one.

It was a financial success. Poeple liked the story and the characters but the gameplay was bad ...

AFAIR, game had 6.5 - 7.5 scores on major review sites. And plot was overfilled with cliches. AK74 was the only good thing about the game.

I'm confused about this new movie Adaptation with Bruce Willis as Kane and

can't help think he should be playing Lynch. Michael Biehn should play Kane.

Lynch is the balding fellow with shotgun, other one is Kane (who looks like he has grown some hair since first game, odd).

Clearly, the case he stole from Retomoto was filled with Rogaine.

It's a Norinco model 77B, you can tell on account of the unusual shaped trigger guard, which doubles as a one handed slide-cycling mechanism, you depress the front of the trigger guard and it causes the slide to cycle back. MP2008 had a really good conversation going about which variant of FNC is carried by Vincent in this movie. I have now revived it for this section:

However, The FNCs on the set WERE full auto (I was there), but Director Michael Mann directed Al Pacino to fire semi auto only (which is pretty cool since police should NOT go full auto on street full of civilians). From what I remember, Pacino's gun was a pre-1985 American imported FNC 223 rem Sporter that was converted and had the barrel chopped WAY down to mimic the Para rifles and had a M16A1 style birdcage flash hider installed (see pic) by the movie armorers. FN imported American shorter FNC guns 'called' the para rifle, but the American barrels were several inches longer than the one seen in the movie, so this one was chopped down to look more like the European Para Models of the FNC.

There were a LOT of trainers and gun handlers on location - it was a big shoot with lots of actors/stuntmen handling live weapons. Lu, like most armorers, acquired the guns from rental houses. At the beginning of the filming of the Street battle, the FNCs were provided by Mike Papac of Cinema Weaponry, but the filming went a lot longer than anticipated, and rifles apparently were swapped out with guns provided by Syd Stembridge of Stembridge Gun Rentals of Glendale (according to everyone's recollection), it's been almost 14 years since that shoot so everyone is working from memory. I too must check it for sure. Too many of the guns are outfitted with outlandish RIS rails, lasers, scope mounts, and they're nearly unrecognizable. Hello.

I noticed a over enthiusiastic, but inccorect passage regarding the secondary wounding mechanism of "fragmentation" in the Colt 733 article, and editted it appropriately.

Fragmentation is well documented to be a function of velocity. While certain rounds can fragment at lower velocities (ie, MK262 Mod 0/Mod 1, Nosler OTM, etc) it remains a constant that a high velocity = higher chance of fragmentation. As a result, the statement that rounds fired from the 733 fragment violently, similiar to an "explosion" is completely false.

As is documented in reports by Dr. Martin L. Fackler, and in testing, the reliable fragmentation threshold for common military 5.56 rounds (Vietnam era 55 grain M-193 and modern green tip 62 grain M-855) is 2700 feet per second. The M733 with it's 10.7" barrel will produce velocities in the low 2600 range at the muzzle (http://www.dtic.mil/ndia/2003smallarms/john.ppt#3, a US SOCOM report concerning the modern MK 18, 10.5" barreled grandchild of the M733) , and as such, will not provide very good fragmentation at distances beyond punching range.

The handgun seen on the SISs officier near the end seems to be an LA Vickers Custom, based on the Springfield Loaded pistol, with an extended magwell (you can clearly see the extension on the pistol). The LA Vickers Custom was one of the 1911 handguns delivered by Property Division to the LAPD SWAT before the Kimber Custom II was selected as standard issue for the LAPD (and later the Kimber SIS for the SIS officers)

It's funny: I was just on the street in downtown L.A. today where they filmed the shootout in this movie between the LAPD and McCauley's gang. Remember the part where McCauley, Cheritto, and Shiherlis got in the getaway car and drove off only to be stopped by a police roadblock? They made that sequence seem longer than it really would've been in reality. When I was on Fifth Street today, I looked, thought about it, and realized: they drove roughly one block before stopping, but it seemed like a much greater distance in the film. I agree but on the other hand, I think, plot-wise or character-wise Hanna's choice makes sense.
Maybe Hanna's guns were chosen for dramatic reasons, to show, how much a loner he was. You know, he's not playing by the rules, so he doesn't use the same guns as the rest of the team. And since he's the best cop ever, of course he's allowed to carry any gun he wants. Something like that. There are many movies in which the hero-cops carry stranger guns (Remember Sam Elliott playing a NY-cop with a .45 Winchester Magnum LAR Grizzly Pistol?).

With guns, some pages have multiple categories, so linking them properly is prefered. Look at the edit to see how I write this: [[M16 rifle series#M16A1 Rifle|M16A1]] Rifle.

Also, instead of writing "An example of said gun used in film", it is prefered you copy and paste what the image cpation says on its page or write it yourself and keep it basic. Like a 1911 picture could say "Colt M1911 - .45 ACP." This way caliber is listed as is the gun's name. (look at some of my newest pages and see what I mean)

In most cases, we protect pages from anonymous users. We see that the most serious people make a profile if they wish to knowledgabley add to the site. One too many anonymous users gave us garbage and trolled so we got sick of it. It usually isn't a concern but when I make a 40+ page, it is a pain to remove the dumb comments and such in a maze of information. So if we block the anonymous, the serious make profiles and the trolls move on. If they make profiles to continue trolling or saying dumb things, we ban them.

I noticed you put in a lot of actors pages from classic films which is good since I don't even have those movies that you've listed, but when you're screencapping the movie pages, could you get a good facial recognition screenshot of the actor for placement on the actor's page? Some of the actors I don't know and since I don't have those films I can't put up a decent shot which shows their faces. I usually screengrab a good shot of an actor or actress that is not a gun pic since when we're all doing gun pics, we always focus on whether the gun is clear in the shot, rather than the person. Thanks! for the note on the XM16E1. It was appreciated. Well I am back from a pretty tough assignment (14 hour days and nothing but grief) Actually I didn't know who did what on the franken guns. I was not really paying attention for months to the m16 page and only concentrated on the AP74 22 clones at the bottom. I didn't even know that some guy (Kin93) out of Hong Kong had made so many franken guns out of my pics. But after a really BAD week (which I will go into on a general note later) I scanned up on the M16 page and saw literally a bunch of Franken M16 pics. It wasn't so bad, in just it was just the topper of a really bad week (where someone in the real world took a custom shotgun I built, replaced the buttstock, and then showed it off to various art directors as a gun 'HE' built even though I did 99.99% of the work). So it was kinda just the straw that bent (not broke! :) ) the Camel's back for that time. I KNEW I had to take a break, and I sure felt better when I put a stop to the 'picture requests'. like a weight was taken off my back. (Also I was getting a little TOO wound up over the wave of new anonymous/newbie users whose gun knowledge is only airsoft/Video Games making wrong edits on all the pages. It was bound to happen and is the risk we all take on an open wiki page. Anyway THANKS for the note. Fascinating :) I don't profess to be an expert on the AMT. That pistol I photographed is my own gun from blank adapted inventory (which is usually the case with 85% of my gun pics) and I looked at the gun in my hand from several angles, and that screenshot sure looks darker than possible with just lighting. I wonder if the propmasters on set 'subdued' the finish some how with black paint. I know of some people personally who have subdued their Stainless guns because of personal preference. Anyway, I always welcome insider information like that :) the pistol I have is a BACK II, don't know what the Back up I or previous variation is like. :) If you have access to a good historical summary I would love to see it on the Backup gun page :) thanks and best regards. PS. It's funny. I have a lot of these guns but I don't catch the tell all details that enable someone to Identify it. Only when someone IDs the gun I pull it out of the vault and look at it from different angles (which is really helpful) and sure enough, it's THAT gun (something I should have known but didn't notice). And Legion's Fate himself also notes that the barrel of this Glock is not ported, which it should be. ==7.7mm Arisaka Type 02 Paratrooper Takedown rifle==
I actually had one in original configuration when I was 18 years old. It was a gift along with a bunch of other Imperial Japanese firearms. Some FFL told me that the gun was worthless and offered to take it off my hands for $150.00. Being a stupid teenager I sold the rifle. I also sold this same 'expert' my 7.7 dedicated Arisaka sniper rifle with Nikon late war scope (with chrysanthemum). I guess that was a bitter lesson early in life... :) On Dirty Harry, it's hard to ID the weapon (now since I don't have mine any more) from the sportization. I do have some Sporterized Type 99 rifles rechambered for 30.06. I was buying them up for almost nothing, at gun shows during the 1980s when I needed background generic hunting rifles. Since the news of David Carradine's death :( I was cruising around IMFDB and I noticed a nice touch to Charlton Heston's page. Someone put a photo of him, not a screenshot, in which it simply stated, "Charlton Heston: 1923 - 2008" I wanted to do something similar to Brandon Lee's page (1965-1993) :( , but I also thought that it would be nice (but completely optional) to put a DOB-DOD listing on actors who have passed away. I was going to do one for PhoenixEnt's page for Morris Ankrum the actor, I was going to put (1896-1964) but I figured I would check first. Also I thought it would be nice to know which of our famous actors have passed on. Thoughts anyone? I've been watching some movies which allegedly feature the FN Minimi/M249 Paratrooper, and realized the guns in question may be a different LMG. If you want examples of what I mean, check these out.

I think the templates are looking pretty good, although they stretch all the way across the screen when not next to an image, which may cause problems for people with small screens (they would have to scroll sideways, which can be a pain). I don't know if this can be fixed but if it can I'm throwing it out there. Just wondering, is there anyway to put lines in between each entry, so the films are seperated by columns? I figure if the entries are in a more chart like organization it will be easier to see what lines up with what. If not it's no big deal but I was just wondering. - [[User:Gunmaster45|Gunmaster45]]

I think the templates are coming out great as well, I like the way it is on the [[Steyr AUG]], were the years are listed earliest at the top and most recent at the bottom. Thanks for the note. To the mods: Though my own preference is strongly towards chronological order, I can accede to the wishes of the majority. I do like the format of Title First, before actor. Please note all, in the [[Steyr AUG]] page that the title, then character, then actor template, dovetails nicely into the other genres (television) but also Anime and Video games. Since there is no Character in some and no Actor in Anime or Videgame, I think this order maintains the same look from Film all the way down to VG. Hi, Steve,

I think the way you did the [1911]] page (and thanks for taking time and doing that, BTW) is pretty much perfect and should be the standard. There are only two suggestions I'd make:

(1.) I think we should probably put the Title before actor, as MPM suggested, just because that seems to make a bit more sense. When we were doing the standard bullet point list, it made more sense to say "<actor> as <character> in <title>", but as a straightforward table, I think it would make more sense to go with title first. I imagine that's what most people's eyes are drawn to, anyway, but maybe that's just me.

(2.) Chronological order should probably be the most recent films first, and then work our way backwards. That way, any time a new film comes out with a particular gun, it'll be near the top of the list, since it seems like many visitors come to our site to look for guns in current movies (as evidenced by the disproportionately high number of views on our pages for last summer's blockbusters like ''[[The Dark Knight]]'' and ''[[Wanted]]'', both of which got tens of thousands of hits when those films were in theaters).

I have one other question: Have we figured out how we're going to handle situations where multiple actors handled the same gun (or same type of gun) in a particular movie or TV show? Do we list each actor on a separate line? That's the one and only issue with the tables that I think we need to figure out. You may have noticed I've been applying it to the actor pages I've made recently, although I might go back and try it with columns now. Now, this isn't perfect for ''that'' article because it has a long lead-in with a small pic, and it might be ok to just put the TOC after the text with the picture at the start; I don't think there'll be issues with the picture being larger than the intro as with some articles.
