Near the end of the film, a three-way gun battle erupts between the protagonists, Chinese triad members, and the private army of a corrupt Chinese General. The General's men can be seen wielding [[Type 56]] and [[AK-47#AKMS|Type 56-1]]'s, one of which Riggs gets ahold of to kill Wah Sing Ku ([[Jet Li]]), firing the weapon point-blank while both of them are underwater.

Note: Not an AK-47 as originally thought, not with the folding stock, and considering the fact that the sight was most likely hooded, it must be a Type 56-1.

:I don't think it's a Type 56. The Type 56-2 (which is the version with the side-folding stock) has a different stock design than that. The Type 56 also retains the smooth receiver cover of the older AK-47 models (as opposed to the strengthened ribbed design of the AKM), but that rifle looks like it might have a ribbed one. East German MPiKMs ''do'' have stocks that look like that and ribbed receiver covers, so I'm guessing it might be one of those. I would need to see the front sight, as well as the receiver, in better detail to figure out whether it's a Type 56.

He also uses it to ignite a trail of gasoline spread by Riggs throughout the housing development during the final battle, and tosses the MAC-11, loaded with armor-piercing bullets, to Riggs who uses it to kill Travis who is trying to run him down with a backhoe loader, the powerful rounds able to pierce the dozer blade that was impervious to normal bullets.

When Murtaugh engages the gang bangers, one of them opens fire on him with a [[MAC-10#MAC-11|MAC-11]], spraying and praying in an ultimately futile effort to take out the veteran cop. Upon discovering that the youth wielding it was a friend of his son, Murtaugh goes on a personal mission to find the ones responsible for giving him the illegal weapon. He also uses it to ignite a trail of gasoline spread by Riggs throughout the housing development during the final battle, and tosses the MAC-11, loaded with armor-piercing bullets, to Riggs who uses it to kill Travis who is trying to run him down with a backhoe loader, the powerful rounds able to pierce the dozer blade that was impervious to normal bullets.

:When learning the history of the Darryl's MAC-11, it is said that it had a 36-round magazine. They make 32-round magazines and 50-round magazines, but not 36.

The heavy machine gun used by the Mangalores onboard the Fhloston Paradise space liner was a Browning M2 heavy machine gun. The Browning M2 used had a shortened barrel and was fitted with a few props to make the weapon look more futuristic.
