2 things to say: 1) this movie looks cool. 2) is Chloe Moretz the most younger actress to use a gun. Dillinger
::Younger? She's the most younger? Well if you mean youngest, perhaps she is the youngest FEMALE actor to use a gun, but Austin O'Brien was the YOUNGEST actor to use a gun. He was a year younger than she was for Kick-Ass when he teamed up with Arnold in "Last Action Hero From her birthday to the release of the film is 13 years. From HIS birthday to the release of his film was 12 years. Given that a film is shot a year to 18 months prior to it's wide theatrical release. (there are SOME exceptions to this rule, i.e. Halloween 2 (2009) was shot in the Spring and released in the Fall.).
The miniguns alone would make the pack weigh close to 100 pounds and at 7 pounds per 100 rounds and him fireing for how long? he shouldn't be able to fly with that getup on. Rockwolf66 03:14, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
Well since Jetpacks don't exist in real life, I can suspend my disblief that the jetpack CAN carrying several hundred pounds of weight on it. But still, unless he's wearing ears, his ear drums would have been bleeding by the time he's done shooting. But still...very awesome scene. I'm wondering if Hitgirl's Balisong(s) should be on the page. I know this is movie firearms, but some of the pages have knives or bladed weapons in them. Should they be added to the main page or not?--FirearmFanatic 12:24, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
:No, they shouldn't. Unless this site becomes devoted to weaponry in general, it should be kept to firearms. Despite some of us(including me) having an interest in other forms of weaponry as well, this is a site for firearms, and the pages that have knives/blades on them probably shouldn't have them in all honesty. I mean, the pages for the Blade movies don't have his sword and throwing blades, the page for Big Trouble in Little China doesn't have Jack Burton's knife(which he actually uses with more efficiency than the Tec-9 he carries), etc. And it's not that those weapons were overlooked(the Tec-9 is even described on the Big Trouble page as "Jack's primary weapon along with his knife") or forgotten, it's that they simply don't belong in what is supposed to be a firearms database. DKS01 12:02, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
Well, if anyone cares to know, the balisongs are most likely Benchmade 42s.
I say if a person has good info and pictures of the knives or weaponry they can post it on the discussion page of any given movie section. Spades of Columbia

:It was similar then. Don't be jerks
::Don't be jerks? Don't be stupid. Nobody was being a jerk, we were simply telling you that similar does not equal homage. LOTS of things are "similar" to other things, we could all name hundreds of examples. Just cause The Matrix used an effect of bullets traveling in slow motion(ie "bullet time") doesn't make it an homage to Blade, and just cause V in V for Vendetta dresses in black garb and a black hat doesn't make it an homage to Solomon Kane. Yes, they're similar, but so are countless other things. We were simply telling you it likely wasn't an "homage", and if that counts as being a jerk to you, well, in that case, I WILL be a jerk and tell you to get your ass off the internet, cause it's clearly no place for you. If you're truly that moronic, you deserve to be treated as such. BTW, learn to sign your comments, it's not that difficult. DKS01 04:19, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

ahahahah what a dumbass...mind a well say that whenever you have a tactical knife you're doing a homage Metal Gear Solid...ahahahha

It's my opinion. I'm keeping it. That's what the internet is for. Why don't you get your own page, so we can fight in private. It's not that hard. Tell that other guy to learn to spell. humanzie3
:You can have the opinion that the world is flat if you want. Doesn't make it less wrong though. As for getting my own page, you can click my name and leave a message on the page there if you like. Just cause the page is blank doesn't mean you can't post on it. But since the argument concerns THIS movie I'd prefer it stay here where it's relevant for anyone who wants to join it. And yeah, the other dude's grammar is a bit lacking, but his point is still, well, valid. DKS01 14:00, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Just because Hitgirl uses the Harris Method doesn't mean it's an homage to call of duty. But I think I get what you mean. --FirearmFanatic 14:15, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank you, I appreciate an answer like that. This conversation is going on far too long. Let's do some good for the site instead of fight. DKS01, call of duty is what I first thought of when I saw the scene, leave it at that. Other guy who can't spell; calling me a dumbass is going a little to far for the ethics of this site. Firearm Fanatic, thanks for the positve feedback.humanzie3

well, isnt that effect an actual police tactic, but they use it with a flashlight instead of a knife, dont think that is an homage at all, its just technique smish34

The thing we all have got to remember about the internet is that unlike TV, it's a form of media without any flood gates to hold anyone back. And we all have to make sure what we are saying is what we want to say because the internet isn't always a friendly place when we like to. Even in places like this where harsh arguments don't solve anything, it isn't like it's preventable. This conversation proves that because we see it as the internet, we can say whatever the hell we want without consequences and when someone responses to that, we'd feel that our "power" and right has been infringed upon when really it isn't. We shouldn't hide behind the excuse that "this is the internet" like people would hide behind "Freedom of speech." Excalibur01
Haha, you're totally right.humanzie3

Actually, the first thing that came to my mind was CoD4 as well. The style is very similar, how she holds the gun, the gun recoil, how she reloads and the way she moves which is reflected through the FP camera angle.
I for one, would not be surprised at all if the scene was inspired by CoD since it has become so popular these few years.

Also, as for the intial arguments, some of you were being jerks. It may have been 'homage', it may not, but I don't see the need to dismiss someone like that. Its not the that you're telling someone it isn't homage, its the tone and manner you do in it.
:We told him it probably wasn't an homage. There was no "tone" to it, it was simply stating that IT PROBABLY WASN'T AN HOMAGE. Find another way to say it and see how it will say the exact same thing, please. Nobody was being a jerk in the initial comments, this is simply a fact. Hey, it's cool fellas. I have no hard feelings. It was a fun argument. Thanks for backing me up though. humanzie3

i believe that the grip is called the harries grip or harries tactical grip. it's used with torches, knives, magazines, etc. you can find out more about it on nra websites and the callofduty wiki.

Big Daddy Warehouse
Anyone else just love that scene? He just lays waste to all those guys. It was probably one of my favorite parts. BTW does anyone know exactly what he is saying to hit girl during the rescue? It was really hard to understand it in the theater. --FuriousOyster

- Think he says "Now get to cover, Child" the first time, and "Now switch to Krypto-light" the second, (for the strobing tactical light) --- bigchiefreea
-- And then something like "go to Robin's Reveeeeeeenge" (?)

The SMAW looks like an extended AT-4 tube with the fire control group being a SEF type lower reciever of a H&K MP5 with some more cosmetics on it.

- @Guy before me, I've researched this abit and it seems this is what he actually says:
"Take Cover child!", "Now switch to Kryptonite!", "Go to Robin's Revenge!". The last two things he says are just code words for maneuveres. --47

IMDb states: "Big Daddy's line, "Now go to Robin's revenge!" is a reference to a Robin comic where Robin was fighting a blind master martial artist. Even though he was was blind, his skill was such that Robin could not lay a finger on him. Robin was able to set up a whistle to blow automatically. This overloaded the blind man's primary sense and allowed Robin to sneak up behind him"

Opinion about jetpack machineguns
There are clearly two variants of jetpack machineguns - the ones that are partly seen (in crate), with longer, bigger barrels of actual M-134 Minigun, and the actual ones (used in action). These ones are much shorter and smaller. I have some screenshots that show these "baby-machineguns" (they look like shortened XM214 Microgun/Six-Pak, also Kick-Ass in on scene clearly have ammo-belt of 5.56mm ammunition on shoulders, not 7.62x51mm) on gun-wall.

: I just saw the movie over the weekend and, other than finding Hit Girl the coolest pre-pubescent actress EVER, I don't think the weapons used on the jet pack are real. The relative size of the weapons in relation to the McReadys/Kick Ass makes it clear they cannot be. Added to the fact that, jet pack or no, there is no way someone could lug two miniguns (whatever model/calibre) around during hand to hand combat! --Charon68 01:21, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
:: Well, that particular "hand-to-hand combat" was pretty lame for both participants ;) And minigun barrels look really short btw

:: perhaps it is some cap version - someone could use, that gatling system doesn´t need recoil to operate.
Or maybe they were just spinning plastic models, and the fire was added in post-prodiction.

I think it is a USP 9mm. It doesn't do a lot of damage and it has a high capacity

Actually, the G2A2 rifle isn't SL-8.
The receiver is totaly diferent, eg. the cocking handle is'nt on its top, but it's on the side.
I think it's something like G3 (referred in the name of the gun) fitted with SL-8 stock and handguard.
oh, and just I added some ingame pics. --Silver Eagle 17:32, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

:The lower reciever does look more of a mash between a G3 and a G36. Excalibur01

:This gun is whole a mash, indeed. You can see it on those pictures. Everything exept upper receiver looks like taken from an SL. It's possible that Armachan bought some older G3s or G33s (or a license to produce them) for Replicas, and upgraded them to be more ergonomic (or just more "cool") using kits from SL-8. --Silver Eagle 20:31, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

You mean G36 right? Cause the only gun that's a G33 is a Glock. And the developers most likely just mashed together guns for the hell of it. Excalibur01

:No, i meant HK33 :) - a G3 reworked for 5,56 x45 ammo.
The following weapons were used in the video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl features a semi-realistic ballistic model, incorporating such details as bullet drop and ricochets, but the majority of weapons are modeled with ejection ports, charging handles and other working parts transplanted to the left side of every gun, in the manner of Counter-Strike and Far Cry 2. The developers have stated that this was done because brass ejecting across the player's field of view felt more 'dynamic.' Many of the weapons were modeled with considerable detail, often using textures made from photographs of real examples. Nearly all of these textures were replaced with sanitized skins lacking trademarks and model numbers just before release, probably at the behest of publisher THQ. The original, accurate textures were restored in the stand-alone prequel, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, and mostly retained in the sequel, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. The latter game, however, omits the most prominent marks on a few of the pistols and rifles. All three games use obfuscated or fictionalized names for the weapons.

Weapons degrade and jam over time, and must eventually be replaced. Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat feature mechanic characters who repair weapons and upgrade their performance. Most weapons are capable of mounting various attachments, though many of them are disabled in the configuration files for balance reasons. NPCs are capable of using any weapons available to the player, though the default AI cannot use attachments and tends to eagerly commit suicide if equipped with explosive weapons.

PM
The Makarov PM appears in the game as the "PMm". It is the most common handgun in the first half of the game, used by rookie stalkers, bandits, Ukrainian troops and low-rank Duty members. Unlike a real Soviet-vintage Makarov, the in-game PM can digest hot-loaded 9x18 mm PMM ammunition with no trouble.
The PB-6P9 silenced pistol appears in the game as the "PB1s". It is used occasionally by rookie and experienced stalkers. Like the PM, the in-game PB can fire PMM ammunition. It is not very powerful, but is the first silenced weapon the player will come across.
The Fort 12 appears in the game as the "Fort-12Mk2". It is used by members of the Ukrainian military and a few rookie stalkers. A unique 15-round version called the "Fort-15" is carried by an army officer, Major Kuznetsov, and is the subject of an item retrieval quest. It can also be fitted with a silencer.

The Walther P99 pistol appears in the game as the "Walker P9M". It is one of the most common weapons in the Zone and is often carried by experienced stalkers of many factions. A stalker called Mole carries a unique variant firing 9x18 mm Makarov ammunition, though the player can acquire it only if Mole dies during his brief appearance at the Agroprom.
The Beretta 92FS appears in the game as the "Martha". The Beretta was originally intended to be a common sidearm among mercenaries in the cut Dead City level. In the final game it appears only once, carried by a Duty member who must be rescued from bandits in the Dark Valley. Due to an erroneous configuration parameter, the Beretta's condition degrades absurdly fast. Beretta pistols appear regularly in Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat.
Desert Eagle
The Desert Eagle appears in the game in two versions, the "Big Ben" using 9x39 mm ammunition and the "Black Kite" using .45 ACP ammunition. It can be fitted with a silencer. Both variants are found in the Wild Territory near the body of Gordon Freeman, protagonist of the Half-Life series. A second "Black Kite" is promised by Freedom stalker Max as a quest reward, but a bugged script results in him giving a Walther P99 instead. The use of .45 and 9x39 ammo was patently done for gameplay reasons, as it would not have been worthwhile to create a unique ammo type for a weapon which appears only a handful of times.
The most common shotgun in the game is the TOZ-66 sawed-off shotgun. It is frequently used by rookie stalkers, bandits, and even Duty faction members. Like the other shotguns in the game, it can fire shot, slug and dart ammunition. The game's English translation often refers to shotguns as "rifles", making one mission involving this weapon extremely confusing. This shotgun is internally named the "BM-16" for unknown reasons. A non-sawed-off version was present in alpha builds of the game.
Mossberg Maverick 88
The Mossberg Maverick 88 appears as the "Chaser 13". It is common in the later parts of the game, unlike the SPAS-12. The "Combat Chaser", a unique variant which does more damage at the expense of magazine capacity, is carried by a master stalker called Father Diodor. The developers seem to have confused the Maverick 88 with the Winchester 1300, as this shotgun is internally given the misspelled name wpn_wincheaster1300. The Winchester label is erroneously retained by end-user mods correcting the fake weapon names.
The SPAS 12 shotgun appears in the game as the "SPSA14". It is a rare weapon, found in a stash and carried by a few zombies and by Monolith troops inside the Chernobyl NPP. A unique variant with a rifled barrel is carried by a bandit named Poker, the target of a bugged quest which was impossible to complete until after the game was patched.
It is often used by rookie stalkers and bandits, and is depicted with the early non-curved box magazine. A unique variant firing 9x18 mm ammunition can be found on the body of a dead stalker in the Garbage, while a stalker named Vampire carries a version with a permanently attached silencer. The standard MP5 is one of the few weapons which can mount the regular silencer without mods.
It cannot be fitted with a grenade launcher in the unmodified game, despite the claims of its inventory text, but is fitted with a 4x SUSAT scope. The SG-550 can mount a grenade launcher, and two guards at the Freedom base carry unique versions with scopes. Another unique variant with reduced weight but no attachment points was implemented, but cannot be found in the finished game.
The Heckler & Koch G36 appears in the game as the "GP37". It is used by veteran members of the Freedom Faction. As with the L85, the inventory text erroneously states that it can mount a grenade launcher. It is a fairly common weapon in the last third of the game, and is accurate and powerful. Due to its unusually short barrel, it has been mistakenly identified as a G36K carbine, but you can tell it's a full-size G36 by the number of vents in the handguard (there are six, while the carbine only has four).
The OTs-14-4A "Groza" appears in the game as the "Tunder S14". It is often carried by members of the Duty faction. One Dutyer, Barin, carries a unique 5.45x39 mm version, which can also be bought from Sidorovich the trader under certain conditions. "Groza" is Russian for "thunderstorm", hence the weapon's obfuscated name.
VSS Vintorez
The VSS Vintorez appears in the game as the "Vintar BC". It can be found in the Freedom base, received as a quest reward from Duty or taken from a Monolith member in Pripyat. It is relatively lightweight and allows sprinting and fully automatic fire, but its ammunition is heavy and not the easiest to find.
SVU
The SVU appears in the game as the "SVUmk2". It is used by Freedom and Monolith snipers. The player cannot sprint while wielding it.
The SVD Dragunov appears in the game as the "SVDm2". It is used by Monolith snipers. The player cannot sprint while it is equipped. A unique version with greater zoom and reduced recoil exists in the game's files, but cannot be acquired without mods.

Gauss rifle
A completely fictional weapon, apparently a type of coilgun powered by processed Flash artifacts, with a ten-round magazine and unsurpassed hitting power. It is a rare weapon, appearing only in the hands of Monolith snipers in Pripyat and the NPP in Shadow of Chernobyl, though a group of stalkers in the Dark Valley pretend to have one for sale as part of a scam. It appears only once in Clear Sky but is more easily obtained in Call of Pripyat, where the player is tasked with tracing the origins of the weapon. Its caliber was originally given as 9 mm, changed to 2.54 mm in Clear Sky.
:It seems using some parts o G36 as a base. --Silver Eagle 21:22, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

RG-6
The RG-6 appears in the game as the "Bulldog 6". It appears twice in the game, found either in the Freedom base armory or in a house in the nearby bloodsucker village, and is the target of one of Duty's first quests. A unique version firing M203 ammunition was implemented, but cannot be accessed in the unaltered game.

RPG-7
The RPG-7 also makes an appearance in the game. It is used by Monolith members in the Red Forest, Pripyat and at the NPP, and by a mercenary in the Wild Territory. The launcher can also be found in the Dark Valley and in X18. It is powerful, but the launcher and ammo are both quite heavy.

RGD-5
The most common hand grenades in the game are RGD-5 hand grenades. They have a small radius of blast damage. NPCs were able to throw grenades in alpha versions of Shadow of Chernobyl, an ability restored in subsequent games.

F-1
The second most common (and only other) hand grenades in the game are F-1 hand grenades. They have a larger radius of blast damage than the RGD-5.

GD-05
A smoke grenade which is present in the data files of all three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, but cannot actually be found by the player. Its thick clouds of smoke have no effect on the game AI.

TOZ-34
The TOZ-34, an over and under hunting shotgun, was featured in some pre-release media, but the weapon doesn't actually appear anywhere in the single player game despite existing, fully functional, in the game's files. Many game modifications add it to trader inventories so it can be bought. It functions much like the sawed-off TOZ-66, but is considerably more accurate. The TOZ-34 is restored in Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat under the name "TOS-34", appearing as a common weapon among rookie stalkers and bandits.

<br clear=all>

Browning Hi-Power
Another weapon which was apparently cut at the last minute. The Browning Hi-Power is in the game, fully functioning, but doesn't appear anywhere and can't be bought. Like with the TOZ-34 many mods add the Hi-Power to trader inventories so it can be purchased, and it appears in the later S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games as the "HPSS-1m".

http://sierra.fpsbanana.com/ss/skins/69408a.jpg

PKM
The PKM machine gun was cut from Shadow of Chernobyl during development but brought back in later games as the "RP-74", the developers having apparently confused it with the RPK-74 light support weapon. It is a heavy, cumbersome and inaccurate gun which, despite sharing the 7.62x54 mm caliber, cannot interchange ammo with the SVD and SVU.

Protecta
The Armsel Protecta appeared in a very early alpha build of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but was not seen again until it debuted in Call of Pripyat as the "Eliminator". Despite its nature as a close-range weapon, it has no iron sights but can mount the SUSAT scope.

The primary handgun of the game is a H&K USP40 Pistol chambered for .40S&W.
Ingame it is called the Rakow AT-14. The only difference between the real USP40 and the pistol used in the game is that the real USP40 can only hold 14 rounds of ammunition, while the pistol used in the game holds 18 rounds. It can be dual wielded.
While most people believe this weapon to be an MP5A3, the weapon is actually based more off of an MP5 knock-off called the MP-10. Ingame it features a mounted holographic sight and a retractable buttstock. However in real-life, no such buttstock exists. Ingame it is called the Sumak RPL
Tavor TAR-21
An IMI firearm makes it into the game, it utilizes a 3X scope, and is restricted to three-shot burst-fire.
A Franchi SPAS-12 makes it into the game, it has a 12-shell magazine capacity rather than the real one's 8. Fans of the Gibbing system will find this gun to their likes.
Ingame it is called the Vollmer VK-12

Armacham 10mm HV Penetrator
Basically a nailgun, this weapon does a number on armor. The kill shot from this gun can pin foes to walls and whatnot.

Armacham Type 7 Particle Beam weapon
A rather odd firearm, it fires a single beam of plasma, instantly evaporating most enemies, heavily damaging others.

Obregon MP-50 Repeating Cannon
An extremely powerful Automatic Cannon is used in the game, it dukes out heavy damage and has a large magazine capacity of fifty 20mm rounds. Simply firing it causes enough noise to temporarily deafen the user.

Andra MOD-3 Multi-Rocket Launcher
A 3-shot burst Rocket launcher makes it into the game, resembling more of an assault rifle design than traditional over the shoulder rocket launchers.
Special Weapons MP-10 9mm Carbine
While most people believe this weapon to be an MP5A3, the weapon is actually based more off of an MP5 knock-off called the MP-10. Ingame it features a mounted holographic sight and a retractable buttstock. However in real-life, no such buttstock exists. Ingame it is called the Sumak RPL
A heavily modified SL8 Sporting rifle makes it into the game. It is the Primary assault rifle of the game, it is converted to fully-automatic, given a Beta-C Drum Magazine, and an M14-style rear aperture sight. It is seen on the cover.
Ingame it is called the Rakow G2A2
An IMI firearm makes it into the game, it utilizes a 3X scope, and is restricted to three-shot burst-fire.
Ingame it is called the Baksha ASP Rifle
A Franchi SPAS-12 makes it into the game, it has a 12-shell magazine capacity rather than the real one's 8. Fans of the Gibbing system will find this gun to their likes.
Ingame it is called the Vollmer VK-12

Heckler & Koch USP40
The primary handgun of the game is a H&K USP40 Pistol chambered for .40S&W.
Ingame it is called the Rakow AT-14. The only difference between the real USP40 and the pistol used in the game is that the real USP40 can only hold 14 rounds of ammunition, while the pistol used in the game holds 18 rounds. It can be dual wielded.

Heckler & Koch SL8
A heavily modified SL8 Sporting rifle makes it into the game. It is the Primary assault rifle of the game, it is converted to fully-automatic, given a Beta-C Drum Magazine, and an M14-style rear aperture sight. It is seen on the cover.
Ingame it is called the Rakow G2A2

SPAS-12
