It is the tenth installment in the [[Saw franchise|''Saw'' franchise]] and serves as a interquel to ''[[Saw (2004)|Saw]]'' and ''[[Saw II]]''. The film stars [[Tobin Bell]], [[Shawnee Smith]], [[Synnøve Macody Lund]], [[Steven Brand]], Octavio Hinojosa, Renata Vaca, and Paulette Hernandez.

After a medical examination, John Kramer learns that he has only a few months to live. Hearing about Dr. Finn Pederson's experimental treatment, John goes to Mexico for the operation. However, it is soon discovered that it was a scam and the newly doomed Jigsaw tracks down all his dishonest doctors and starts a new game. The movie was released in the United States on September 29, 2023, by Lionsgate.

Arriving at the chemical plant after Cecilia's call, Parker Sears ([[Steven Brand]]) uses a [[Glock 17]], but quickly gets stunned by Amanda ([[Shawnee Smith]]), who takes it from him. Jigsaw ([[Tobin Bell]]) then puts the pistol in a locker, having removed all the gunpowder from the cartridges. Breaking the rules of the game, Sears steals the Glock and takes the killers captive, forcing them to go through the trial themselves. When the door to the room suddenly closes, Cecilia Pederson ([[Synnøve Macody Lund]]) tries to shoot it off, but it turns out that the gun is not loaded. In a technical error, Cecilia repeatedly squeezes the trigger and the gun repeatedly clicks, as if it were a SA/DA hammer fired pistol.

==Trivia==
John Taffin mentions in one of his books ("big bore handguns" or "big bore sixguns") that the Ruger used in the movie was customized by gunsmith Andy Horvath. It seems that someone from the movie's crew read an article by Taffin about his own Ruger, built by Horvath. The producers tried to Borrow Taffin's revolver but he declined and suggested them to contact Horvath. The gunsmith then built several revolvers for the movie and (reportedly) for Don Johnson's and Mickey Rourke's personal use. It is doubtful that the revolvers used in the movie were actually converted to .454 Casull.
