Several [[M16 rifle series#M16A1 Rifle|M16A1]] assault rifles feature prominently in the film, fitted with M16A2-style handguards being wielded by various L.A.P.D. officers, including Detective Casals ([[Wes Studi]]). Casals uses one to assist in disabling McCauley's getaway vehicle (a Lincoln Town Car) and injure Chris Shiherlis ([[Val Kilmer]]) during the gun battle resulting from the bank heist.

== Colt Commando ==

During the bank robbery Neil McCauley ([[Robert De Niro]]) and Chris Shiherlis ([[Val Kilmer]]) carry [[M16 rifle series#Colt Commando Carbine|Colt Commando]] carbines, which are also designated as M733. They are ultra-compact versions of the M16 rifle family with 11.5-inch barrels, being smaller and shorter than the M16A2 Rifle (20-inch) and M4 Carbine (14.5-inch). The lighter encumbrance comes at a tradeoff of reduced range and accuracy, which is appropriate since the Commandos can be fired from inside the vehicle, the robbers burdened by loads of cash, and because the firefight takes place at close to medium distances. The M733s have full automatic and semi-auto fire modes, while retaining the penetration of the 5.56 mm round of its big brothers, which is particularly deadly as they are capable of wounding officers and bystanders even through objects normally considered safe cover. They handle similarly to submachine guns, being less accurate but much more powerful.

Not surprisingly, Shiherlis uses the M733s to great effect, killing Bosko ([[Ted Levine]]), a member of Hanna's detectives, in a brief exchange of fire. After the getaway ride is disabled, Shiherlis sprays the police barricade with dozens of rounds, shooting up the LAPD patrol cars and bringing down at several officers. McCauley also uses it to shoot a pursuing patrolman while carjacking a Ford Taurus Wagon to escape.

==FN FAL==

Another weapon used by the Haitian gang members is an [[FN FAL]] carbine, seen during the intersection shootout and freeway chase scenes by "Blondie Dreds" ([[Kiko Ellsworth]]). The FAL used is an American Variant made by DSArms in Lake Barrington, IL, called the SA58. Like the FN FAL, The SA58 comes in many shapes and sizes and can easily be modified with different stocks, sights, etc., but in this particular scene it is a "Tactical Carbine OSW", which is a select-fire, super-short carbine (12" barrel with carbine handguard) with a para-style side-folding stock and a L1A2/Bren converted-to-metric 30-round magazine. Like the Law Enforcement/Military-only version of the SA58 OSW, the one used in the movie is select-fire. Unlike the version offered by DS Arms, the one in the movie does not have an attached carry-handle, a vertical pistol-grip installed on a hardpoint (picatinny rails) on the handguard, nor does it use any brand of holo-sight/red-dot reticle (like the EOTECH for example); instead, it uses standard para-style "rear-eared" iron peep-sights.

Another weapon used by the Haitian gang members is an [[FN FAL]] carbine, seen during the intersection shootout and freeway chase scenes by "Blondie Dreds" ([[Kiko Ellsworth]]). The FAL used is an American Variant made by DSArms in Lake Barrington, IL, called the SA58. Like the FN FAL, The SA58 comes in many shapes and sizes and can easily be modified with different stocks, sights, etc., but in this particular scene it is a "Tactical Carbine OSW", which is a select-fire, super-short carbine (12" barrel with carbine handguard) with a para-style side-folding stock and a L1A2/Bren converted-to-metric 30-round magazine. Like the Law Enforcement/Military-only version of the SA58 OSW, the one used in the movie is select-fire. Unlike the version offered by DS Arms, the one in the movie does not have an attached carry-handle, a vertical pistol-grip installed on a hardpoint (picatinny rails) on the handguard, nor does it use any brand of holo-sight/red-dot reticle (like the EOTECH for example); instead, it uses standard para-style "rear-eared" iron peep-sights.

The FAL used is an American Variant made by DSArms in Lake Barrington, IL, called the SA58. Like the FN FAL, The SA58 comes in many shapes and sizes and can easily be modified with different stocks, sights, etc., but in this particular scene it is a "Tactical Carbine OSW", which is a select-fire, super-short carbine (12" barrel with carbine handguard) with a para-style side-folding stock and a L1A2/Bren converted-to-metric 30-round magazine. Like the Law Enforcement/Military-only version of the SA58 OSW, the one used in the movie is select-fire. Unlike the version offered by DS Arms, the one in the movie does not have an attached carry-handle, a vertical pistol-grip installed on a hardpoint (picatinny rails) on the handguard, nor does it use any brand of holo-sight/red-dot reticle (like the EOTECH for example); instead, it uses standard para-style "rear-eared" iron peep-sights.

Another weapon used by the Haitian gang members is an [[FN FAL]] carbine, seen during the intersection shootout and freeway chase scenes by "Blondie Dreds" ([[Kiko Ellsworth]]). The FAL used is an American Variant made by DSArms in Lake Barrington, IL, called the SA58. Like the FN FAL, The SA58 comes in many shapes and sizes and can easily be modified with different stocks, sights, etc., but in this particular scene it is a "Tactical Carbine OSW", which is a select-fire, super-short carbine (12" barrel with carbine handguard) with a para-style side-folding stock and a L1A2/Bren converted-to-metric 30-round magazine. Like the Law Enforcement/Military-only version of the SA58 OSW, the one used in the movie is select-fire. Unlike the version offered by DS Arms, the one in the movie does not have an attached carry-handle, a vertical pistol-grip installed on a hardpoint (picatinny rails) on the handguard, nor does it use any brand of holo-sight/red-dot reticle (like the EOTECH for example); instead, it uses standard para-style "rear-eared" iron peep-sights.

Unlike the version offered by DS Arms, the one in the movie does not have an attached carry-handle, a vertical pistol-grip installed on a hardpoint (picatinny rails) on the handguard, nor does it use any brand of holo-sight/red-dot reticle (like the EOTECH for example); instead, it uses standard para-style "rear-eared" iron peep-sights.

The main villain of the film, Johnny Tapia ([[Jordi Mollà]]) keeps a silver [[Walther PPK]] with pearl grips in his bedroom in his Miami home. He is also seen killing Roberto ([[Jon Seda]]) with it, and using it during the raid on his Miami home which leads to Syd being taken hostage.

== Remington 870 ==

A silver [[Remington 870]] shotgun with black foregrip and stock and a high-capacity magazine tube makes two appearances in the film. The distinct silver finish is specific to the "Marine Magnum" special edition of Remington 870 shotguns. Like the Beretta Inox pistols mentioned above, this distinctive weapon also changes owners during the course of the film; first used by a KKK member intent on shooting Burnett from behind (leading to the incident where Burnett gets shot in the rear by Lowrey by accident), and again as the first weapon fired by the Haitian gang members in the raid on their hideout.
